"Donya Madani. She's a refugee, yeah. Okay. Call me if you get a hit." Sam spoke to Torres on the phone as we sat in Zemo's jet. "Thanks, Torres."

    "You, okay?" Bucky asked Sam.

"Yeah." Sam sighed, "Just thinking about all the shit Sharon had to go through. And Nagel referring to the American test subject like Isaiah wasn't even a real person. Just makes me wonder how many people have to get steamrolled to make way for this hunk of metal."

"Well, it depends on who you ask. That hunk of meat saved a lot of lives." Bucky told him.

"Yeah, I get that. All right. Maybe I made a mistake." Sam admitted.

"No maybe, you did." I say.

"Yeah. Maybe I shouldn't have put it in a museum. I should have destroyed it." Sam said.

"Look, that Shield represents a lot of things to a lot of people, including me." Bucky told him, "The world is upside down, and we need a new Cap, and it ain't gonna be Walker. So before you destroy it, I'll take it from him myself."

Sam's phone buzzed as Zemo walked in.

"Yeah. Yeah." Sam said on the phone as Zemo put down three plates, "Okay. Thanks. Good work." Sam put down the phone, "They found Madani... Dead. She died in Riga, a city near the Baltic Sea."

"I have a place we can go. I, for one, am looking forward to coming face to face with Karli. Oeznik, we're changing the course." Zemo told us.

—————

"I heard what became of Sokovia. Cannibalized by its neighbours before the land was even cleared of rubble, erased from the map. I don't suppose any of you bothered visiting the memorial? Of course not. Why would you? We are here." Zemo said as he lead us through the old city streets.

"I'm gonna go on a walk." Bucky told us.

"You good?" Sam wondered.

"Yeah. I'll see you guys in a bit." Bucky told us.

"Okay. Stay safe." I give him a kiss.

"You don't have to worry, Doll." He told me and walked off.

I followed Zemo and Sam up the steps.

————

Zemo had a bath, I just sat on the couch. It was a nice big place.

"Well, the Wakandans are here. They want Zemo. Bought us some more time." Bucky told us as he walked through the door.

"Were you followed?" Sam wondered.

"No." Bucky answered.

"How can you be so sure?" Zemo asked.

"'Cause I know when I'm being followed." Bucky said.

"It was sweet of you to defend me at least." Zemo thanked.

"Hey, you shut it. No one's defending you." Sam told him. "You killed Nagel."

"Do we really have to litigate what may or may not have happened?" Zemo said.

"There's nothing to litigate. You straight shot the man." Sam told him.

"Sam." Bucky spoke.

"What?" Sam wondered.

"Karli bombed a GRC supply depot." Bucky told us.

"What? What is the damage?" I asked walking up to them.

"Eleven injured, three dead. They have a list of demands and are promising more attacks if those demands aren't met." Bucky read off his phone.

"She's getting worse." Zemo said. "I have the will to compete this mission. Do the three of you?"

"She's just a kid." Sam claimed.

"You're seeing something in her that isn't there. You're clouded by it. She's a supremacist. The very concept of a Super Soldier will always trouble people. It's that warped aspiration that led to Nazis, to Ultron, to the Avengers." Zemo explained.

"Hey, those are our friends you're talking about." Sam told him.

"The Avengers, not the Nazis." Bucky made clear.

"Definitely not the Nazis, those are bad." I say.

"So, Karli is radicalized, but there has to be a peaceful way to stop her." Sam hopes.

"The desire to become a superhuman cannot be separated from supremacist ideals. Anyone with that serum is inherently on that path. She will not stop. She will escalate until you kill her. Or she kills you." Zemo explained.

"Maybe you're wrong, Zemo. The serum never corrupted Steve." Bucky pointed out.

"Touché. But there has never been another Steve Rogers, has there?" Zemo pointed out.

"Because Steve was a good man, not a perfect Soldier." I say.

"Well, maybe we should give him to the Wakandans right now." Bucky said.

"And you'll give up your tour guide?" Zemo questioned.

"Yes." I say.

"From my understanding, Donya is like a pillar of the community, right?" Sam wondered. "So, when I was a kid, my TT passed away."

"Your TT?" Bucky hesitated sitting on the couch.

"Yeah, my TT, yeah." Sam said.

"Who is your TT?" Bucky asked.

"Fine. When I was a kid, my aunt passed away and the entire neighborhood got together for a ceremony. It was like a week long. Maybe they're doing the same thing for Donya." Sam suggested.

"Worth a shot." Bucky agreed.

"Your TT would be proud of you." Zemo told Sam. "Turkish delight." He tossed one to Sam. "Irresistible."

————

"Shame what's become of this place." Zemo said as we walked out. "When I was young, we used to come here for fabulous dinners and parties. I knew nothing of the politics of the time, of course, but I remember it being beautiful."

"I'm gonna take a look around upstairs. See what you can find out here. Keep an eye on him." Sam told us as he left.

"I'll stay out of your way." Zemo said.

————

We went our separate ways.

"Excuse me?" I asked some people. "I'm looking for Donya Madani?"

"No, sorry." The lady quickly walked away.

"Hello, sir." I tap a man's shoulder. "I'm trying to find my friend, Donya Madani? I heard she was sick."

"No, never heard that name." The man left.

"Wonderful." I mumble.

————

I find Bucky and Sam, I walk up beside them to see Zemo sitting talking to a little girl.

"It's starting to feel like a dead end." Sam sighed.

"The hell is he doing?" Bucky wondered.

I watched as he gave the child the rest of the candy and walked over to us.

"Cute kids." Zemo smiled walking past us.
