"To be truthful, I felt something was going on between you two," Nonso spoke, "Tochukwu is always itching to see you and I have never seen him care so much about a girl that is not family. I thought you guys were still in the catching feelings stage, I didn't know it has already gone deep."
"Me too, I didn't know," She said wryly.
He shot her a look. "When I came back from my class that day, I was about to announce my entrance but what I saw stopped me in my tracks. Tochukwu and Kamsi hugging." He laughed, "And the hug did not finish oo, for like how many minutes! Then I noticed you were crying and I was like what is going on? What is happening in this world? Your talk sha lasted and then you guys were staring at each other like..." He whistled.
"Nonso, shut up," She laughed, hiding her face in her hands.
"Love eyes," He teased.
At least, he didn't notice when Kaito tried to kiss her... If that was what he wanted to do.
"End of story," She said drily, uncovering her face, "What's the moral lesson?"
Nonso stared at her as if searching for something. "You guys fit," He said finally, "But it's strange."
"Strange?" She was curious.
"I was not expecting Tochukwu to fall in love this..."
"Who says anything about love?" She cut him off.
"To fall in like," He corrected, chuckling, "He avoided this stuff since junior school, even if he had plenty of admirers. Even you. You are the off-limits girl."
"Off-limits girl?" She was even more curious.
He nodded. "Off-limits girl. The type of girl that will break five guys' hearts before accepting one, the type of girl that not any guy can approach, you set yourself out of reach."
She blinked. "Ok... A weird explanation...."
"But my guy stretched far, he reached you," Nonso said proudly, "You guys are different yet similar. You don't fit but you fit."
"Like you and Kaito," She said, "I don't think we are that different though."
"But seriously, what happened?" He asked, facing her fully, "Because that hug was intense and the next thing I know, you guys are acting strange. Were you dating?"
"No!"
He chuckled. "Why are you now squeezing your face? Is Tochukwu not datable?"
She shrugged and he eyed her. "Pretend like you don't like him."
She shrugged again and he sighed.
"So similar," He muttered.
"Tochukwu only told me that you guys are taking a break. I don't understand. How can you take a break when you were not dating?"
"I don't know," She mumbled.
He rolled his eyes and got to his feet. "The both of you are very annoying. Let's return to class."
She rose, dusting her house wear.
"Just know that whatever happened, I am getting you two back together," He said.
She wanted to tell him that they were never together in the first place but she kept her mouth shut and instead went with him to class.
It was not a surprise to see Danielle next to Kaito on the corridor. It was just like the books; when the main characters were having a problem, there was always the intruder, the in-betweener to make things worse. It was Danielle in her case.
It was as if Danielle and Kaito had gotten closer since she fell out with him. Jealousy, an emotion she didn't feel quite too often was now her best friend.
And now, she watched shocked and pained as Danielle leaned up and planted a kiss on Kaito's cheek.

"Kamsi."
She looked up at him. He had been standing there for over a minute now but she had paid him no notice. He had a nervous and tired look on.
"It was a dare," He said nervously, "Dani was dared to peck me. I didn't even know until she did it. I wouldn't have allowed her if I knew."
She blinked. "So?"
"So?" He repeated, confused.
"Why are you telling me?" She asked impatiently.
He stared at her, his confusion slowly turning into dread then sadness.
He opened his mouth and shut it. He ran a hand across his face and suddenly walked away.
It took her a lot to maintain the disinterested look. It took her a lot not to cry.
