"Look at you! You're so fucking gorgeous!" Natalie exclaimed. Audrey blushed. Adding on to the light red blush Natalie had already applied to her cheeks. Natalie also did her hair and Eyeliner. Audrey looked at herself in the mirror. She couldn't even recognize it was her.

"You look even more beautiful!" Audrey said. Natalie twirled around, her red dress flowed softly. Her hair was done up almost matching Audrey's—Curled at the top and strands going down the side of her face. She wore red lipstick and dark eyeliner. She eyed herself in the mirror next to Audrey. "I know." she gave a cheeky wink at her in the mirror.

"The boys are going to die when they see us," She said. Her hand dramatically went over her head as if she were fainting. Audrey couldn't help but laugh. Adrian? dropping dead at the sight of me? No way.

  Ding dong!

"Speak of the handsome devils," Natalie said. She walked over to the door to let in her guests. Audrey stayed seated and waited for them to come to her. She may have liked feeling pretty but still wasn't used to people seeing her this way.

Adrian walked in. he was dressed pretty...Average. He wore dark jeans, a white button-up shirt, and black suspenders. He fashioned a blue bowtie and semi-worn dress shoes. Auydrey expected more but she couldn't help but still be infatuated with him. His hair slicked back and shined in the light.  He looked like a movie star to her. Audrey bit her lower lip but quickly stropped, not wanting to show any sign of infatuation. A red rose in a box was in his hand.

"Y-You look good. Great, I mean," she said meekly. She struggled to make eye contact, smiling as she looked away.

"Why are you laughing?" He asked. A hint of insecurity in his voice. "Sorry! It's just you're in jeans," Audrey said. Not really why she smiled but she had to think quickly.

He blushed and blew hot air in her direction. He sat next to her. "My dads' slacks were a little too big for me, luckily his shoes fit fine."

The way he looked caused guilt to strike her heart. She twiddled her thumbs and choked out her words. "I didn't mean it that way, you look really good," she said. She brushed her knuckles against his arm.

His cheeks reddened. "Thanks, you look nice too," he said. There was awkward tension between them, Audrey could feel it. The rose in his hand caught her attention. "Pretty rose," she said.

"Oh yeah! Sorry, I forgot!" He nervously fumbled his hands as he tried to open the box. "It's a corsage for you. My mom helped me pick it out." A beautiful faux rose with leaves and white beads attached to a pin. once it was finally out of the box he lifted his hands to her chest. He paused.

"Uh- may I?" he nervously said. An Audible gulp came from him. Audrey was too stunned to speak, nodding her head. Her face was burning hot at this point.

Adrian struggled to pin it on her dress, just above her left breast. He was being very delicate. Audrey noticed he wasn't making any eye contact with the spot. The reason seemed obvious. She cleared her throat to get rid of that lump that was swelling up inside.

"It might be easier if you–you know–looked at what you're doing. Maybe." Adrian was a stuttering mess; his hands shook.

"WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE!?" They both jumped at the sudden entrance of Natalie. Adrian jumped back like he'd been caught red-handed doing something perverted. He struggled to get his words out—repeating I about 7 times. "I was just trying to put this on." he raised his hands to show the flower—trembling.

Natalie rolled her eyes, smiling at them. Audrey could feel her face getting red hot.

Natalie grabbed the corsage from Adrian's hand and moved in front of Audrey. "Here, let me help." It was a quick clip, Making it more embarrassing that the two of them took too long to put it on.
