If someone had told him years ago that his life would be something like that, Y/N would have laughed at him.

He never expected anything, but what he got was something precious. He felt he could be close to Rider and understand why the King of Dragons had chosen to devote his entire life to his family and friends.

"When you said you wanted to go out to dinner, I thought you meant going to sushi," Mordred commented while she was reading the Italian restaurant menu. "I didn't think we'd come straight to Naples."

"Well, it was the least I could do," Y/N said. "I owe you an apology for not telling you about my quick trip to Romania and thanking you for always helping me." He closed the menu and stared at Mordred with a sweet smile. "Besides, today is also the day we got married."

"Oh, it's true," Mordred remembered.

Y/N did not expect anything, not even to see Mordred wearing an evening dress, elegant evening shoes and a slight flesh-coloured lipstick on her lips. He wasn't complaining, and he found her attractive, but he was initially surprised.

"That dress suits you," Y/N sincerely complimented.

"Thank you," Mordred stammered, trying to hide the blush. "Artoria helped me."

"Mom?" Y/N blinked in surprise.

Mordred nodded slightly. "I asked her for some advice on how to be more feminine and she forced me to spend hours inside a stupid dress shop."

He had noticed that the relationship between Artoria and Mordred had changed since their return from the past. It had been surprising that the King of Knights, a person loyal to morality, had willingly accepted incest but the only thing she had asked them to be responsible for the sake of their daughter.

"I admit it's a bit embarrassing," Mordred said.

"I guess you'll have to get used to it a bit, but I'm sure you will succeed," Y/N reassured. "This is not the first time you have to adapt."

The waiter arrived and took their orders.

"It wasn't easy," Mordred admitted, smiling ironically. "But nothing is."

Having never had a maternal figure who taught her what it meant to be a woman, Mordred had to improvise when Martha was born, but in the end, the result was before everyone's eyes: a healthy little girl who lived a carefree childhood running around the fields.

"We should bring her a souvenir. How about some pizza?" Mordred suggested.

Y/N chuckled, amused.

"As I imagined, you are that kind of person," Y/N said, taking her hand gently. "Even if you want to appear outwardly as a strong person, you take care of others more than yourself."

His clairvoyance had shown him.

The Mordred summoned by the King of Dragons had saved his niece's life by welcoming her into her womb, ignoring the fact that she was near incest and unnatural.

The Pirate King's Mordred had followed "her" Y/N at the expense of the fact that they would become enemies of the world and together had lived many adventures for the seas.

And even those who hadn't summoned her, Mordred had become a staple of their lives.

"That's what I love about you," Y/N declared.

Mordred blushed heavily. Her heart was pounding fast that it could jump out at any moment.

"When did it start?" she asked.

"When? When?" Y/N let go of a long sigh. "It's been a long time, probably before I moved to Kuoh."

Mordred's pupils dilated, realising how long it was.
