Enid's POV:

We arrive back at Nevermore. Christmas and New Year's was amazing. I had so much fun over there.

We unpack our stuff as I listen to some music. I eye the ring on my finger. It's so perfect. Literally, because it's from my Wens. But even in general it's gorgeous.

She seems to enjoy those headphones I got her. She's listening to my music right now. Well, all throughout the car ride too. She always said she hated my genre of music, but she never complained about it.

Her parents told us they'll keep the cat at their house because they're not sure how Nevermore is with pets. Completely reasonable, but that means I'll be visiting often.

Wens won't mind. It had been a half hour and we finished putting our things away. I watch as Wednesday takes off her headphones and sets them on her desk before turning to me. I do the same as I pause the music and walk toward her. I take her hands in mine.

"So?" I start. "How are you feeling?" I ask her.

She shrugs. "Deathly allergic to this school. I don't want to be here." Wednesday complains. I see a tiny smile on her face.

I'm gonna die. "You're adorable when you're deadly, though." I flirt.

I notice her blush as she turns her face away. I smile at my success even though I make her blush all the time. A knock on the door breaks us apart as I go over and open it.

"Enid." My mom says, sternly.

I freeze. I don't answer. What the hell is she doing here?

"Pack up your shit. We're leaving." She says, pushing me into the room.

I notice Wednesday doesn't move, but just stands aside and watches. I walk toward my bed and turn around to her. "No! I'm not good enough for you, right? That's what you said." I say, anger running inside my body.

I watch her lips turn in different directions as she stumbles over her words. "She can stay here." A voice says. My mother turns around to be face to face with Wednesday.

Yay! My girlfriend's here to save me!

"Oh! You must be the Addams." My mom says.

Wednesday smirks and scoffs. "And? You must be that motherfucking bitch that no one gives a fuck about."

My eyes widen. Wednesday needs to calm down. Did she forget that we are wolves? My
mother could just transform and kill her in seconds.

"Don't get in the way of us! You mean nothing to her!" My mom spits in her face.

Before I can stop Wednesday from taking action, my mother is punched across the face. I rush over to Wednesday and start pushing her back, preventing her from striking again.

I sit her on her bed as I turn my head to look at my mom. She holds the side of her face. I can see it bruising. Damn, my girlfriend got a hit.

"I'll be back." My mom grunts before leaving and slamming the door on her way out.

It's silent in the room. My hands are still on Wednesday's shoulders and I still look to my side. I close my eyes and try to control my breathing.
