[Ghost]
A new recruit. Great.
I stand in the office as Laswell walks in, behind her stands a young female soldier. She looks just like her picture. Of course, I read her file before she arrived. Y/N. 26 years old. 8 years of service. Most promising recruit of the east stationed base.
I will believe it when I see it.
She stares at me as Price walks up to her shaking her hand.
''Miss Y/N, welcome to our base. We are so excited to have you join our forces.''Are we? I guess I didn't get the memo.
I am still fuming Price went ahead and recruited her while I specifically advised against it. She might be promising at a regular base, but this is SAS. I just know she can't live up to the standards. Now that I see her I can't help but feel even more annoyed. Such a waste of time.
As Price talks to her, I stare her up and down. She is athletic sure, but small as her head would only reach up to my chest. She would be the first female soldier to join the base. I don't care, but I can already imagine the trouble it might bring. These men at the base haven't really seen a woman in a while, and as her Lieutenant I might be stuck with watching out for her. Like I have time for that.
I can tell she feels my piercing gaze as she listens to what Price is telling her. Her black eyelashes flutter a bit as she tries to remain focused. I can't help but scoff a bit. What the hell was Price thinking?
I snap out of my thoughts as Price gestures towards me. I keep my stance, my arms folded over my chest. I don't have to look annoyed since I am wearing my skull mask, but I am sure my eyes give off the message anyway.
''Lieutenant Simon 'Ghost' Riley''
She looks at me, waiting for me to speak up. When I don't, she reaches out her hand.
''Y/N, Nice to meet you''I shake her hand and give her a nod. She looks a bit annoyed, can't blame her, but I really couldn't care less.
Price clears his throat. ''Lieutenant Ghost will show you around''. His tone changes a bit more stern as I feel his eyes look at me. I let out a deep sigh as I walked towards the door, expecting her to follow me.
I give a sly nod to Laswell as I pass her. She looks at me sternly, as if she is trying to give me a warning not to be too harsh on the new one. She knows me too well.I walk down the hallway. Y/N is following me, her eyes glued to my back.
''So..'' her soft voice breaking the silence between us. ''This wasn't your call, was it?''My shoulders drop a bit. Is it that obvious?
I can't help but grin, which she can't see since she walks behind me.
''No,'' I say, my voice more like a growl. I don't even try to hide the fact I am annoyed.''You not happy I'm here?''
Her tone is soft and feminine, but also with a hint of annoyance. Great, gotta deal with attitude now too. I bit my lip so as to not lash out at her immediately.
She grows more frustrated as I hear her scoff behind me when I don't answer her question.I push the double doors at the end of the hallway, which leads to the sleeping quarters. More like old classrooms that have been transformed into bedrooms. The hallway glass windows are tinted and bulletproof. All rooms have name plates on them. Except for one.
''This is yours'' I say cold and stern as I stand still in front of it. Y/N looks at me and nods, still frowning in annoyance. She opens the door herself, walking in as I lean against the doorframe.
