Chapter 8
[Ghost]
It's Friday evening and the soldiers at the base are holding their monthly drinking party at the cafeteria. It's always the same: drinks, bad jokes, card games and scabrous stories.
I rarely attend. It's the perfect night for me to catch up on work.
I catch myself glancing at the clock on my desk. Almost midnight.
Party has been going on for a few hours now.
I stand up as I slowly open the door of my office. I can hear the music and laughter coming from all the way down the cafeteria.
Maybe I should just check it out, before calling it a night.
As I make my way down the hallway I can hear Soap's voice over the rest of the soldiers.
‘’Y/N cut it out already!’’
I pick up my pace as I enter the cafeteria. The soldiers are laughing as they are obviously all affected by the alcohol, chatting with each other with playful banter. The music is loud, but I can hear a few different voices yelling even louder.
I walk into the cafeteria as I take in the scene before me.
Y/N is standing in the middle of the cafeteria. An inch away from another soldier as she stares up to him.
‘’Repeat what you call me. I dare you.’’ She hisses at him, a bit sluggish. She obviously had alot to drink. Her cheeks are flustered and her gaze is glazed. Her eyes are burning with fire as she grits her teeth at the soldier. Her hands are clenched into fists at her side.
The soldier is chuckling as he stands in front of her. His arms folded over his chest.
He bends a bit forward, his nose almost touching hers and he speaks.
‘’I called you a fucking bitch.’’ He says with a condescending tone.
The soldiers around them start exclaiming ‘’oohs’’ as it riles them up even further.
‘’You listen to me..’’ Y/N says as she doesn't back down an inch.
I find myself intrigued with her confident stance as I watch the scene unfold.
In a flash Y/N grabs the soldier's collar as she kicks his knee caps.
The soldier grunts and buckles quickly through them.
The soldiers around them gasp like they are watching a fucking boxing match.
Y/N walks around him and pulls his head backwards as she yanks his hair. The soldier letting out a frustrated grunt.
She brings her mouth closer to the soldier's ear.
‘’Call me that one more time..’’ she says slowly, her tone low like a growl. The way she slurs while saying it does make it a bit less threatening.
She cant finish her sentence as I pull her arm, making her let go of the soldier's hair.
"That's enough.’’
She scoffs at me. Seeming a little surprised to see me.
The soldier grunt as he stands up and rubs his head.
I turn my gaze to him. ‘’Calling teammates names is my job, not yours.’’ I say stern as I narrow my eyes at him.
He nods frantically. Clearly surprised and intimidated by my sudden appearance.
‘“Y-yes sir.’’
‘’And you’’ I growl as I look at Y/N which arm I am still holding.
‘’I need to have a few words with you.’’
