The heart monitor softly beeps. The IV drips steadily. They moved y/n from the regular med bay rooms to critical when the nurses saw the state she was in. I watch over her as she lays on the bed, sleeping soundly. Her deep breaths sound a bit restrained due to her broken ribs. The Vine, or whatever it was called, pushed her body to its absolute limit and it is uncertain how long her recovery will be. The nurses had never seen a drug like it before, so they are not sure how to treat y/n properly at this point.

Hell, they wouldn't even allow me to sit in the room. Let's say I was a bit too persistent for them to keep denying me.

I watch the small IV, which was yanked out, next to the big one. They tried to extract the Vine from her body for research, but it seemed to have completely vanished inside her body. Untraceable. Vince really made sure his drug is safe from being stolen or detected.

So they pulled the IV out of y/n's body again, and gave her a different one. One that will admit to her body, so she can recover sooner. Hopefully.

I look at her face. She looks peaceful, finally. I can't imagine the hell Vince put her through.

I feel so relieved to have her back.

But the mission is far from over. We have Sarah in the operating room, but it isn't looking too good. She lost so much blood. Our medics could barely steady her as they carried her to the evacuation helicopter.

I promised y/n she would be fine. And I pray she will be. I dread having to break the news to y/n if things turn sour..

When Sarah was taken care of in the medical helicopter Soap didn't hesitate to restrain Night, taking him into custody. We have him at one of our interrogation rooms within the base, and Price sees to it personally he can't escape. Not until I am done with him.

Even though I had my suspicions, none of us expected him to stab Sarah like that.

And all, because he wants to be close to y/n?

Like hell he will. I won't let him anywhere near her.

Vince escaped, and the thought alone makes my stomach turn. In the chaos two guards came up running to drag him out of the room. We couldn't do anything to stop them. Soap was too wounded and occupied restraining Night, as I was holding y/n close to me. It does taste sour that we had to let him escape.

But since we have Night in custody, I'm positive we will have another chance.

Y/n will have her revenge.

Her face looks pale with dark circles under her eyes, looking completely drained. Her hair tangled, draped across the pillow.

The white hospital gown is a few sizes too big, her slim arms laying at her sides.

I sigh as I rub my hands over my tired eyes. I don't even know how long I've been sitting here, watching over her.

I drop my hands instantly as I sense her slowly stirring in the bed. After a few seconds, her eyes slowly open.

She is calm at first, but then she turns panicked, scanning her surroundings with darting eyes, her breath quickening..

She shoots up, only to immediately lay down again. Grunting in pain.

"Jesus christ, stay still will ya?" I grumble annoyed as I lay my hand over her arm to keep her down.

Y/n's blood shot eyes shoot towards me. When she registers it is me sitting next to her, she seems to calm down.
