[Ghost]

I pull y/n into the abandoned RV, or that's what it looks like on the outside.
We converted it to a temporary hide out, after we took a regular car to the city. Thankfully, Atlas pinpointed their location for us.
At Least one member of their little squad still sees reason.

The one squirming in my arms like a wild animal sure doesn't.

I close the RV's door, still holding her with my other arm as she manages to wiggle one of hers free.
She doesn't waste a second as her fist connects with my jaw. It throws me off guard, as pain shoots through my face. The sound of my grunt and some loud curse words fill the quiet RV. I stagger a few steps back, letting go of her.

She meets my angry gaze as I clench my throbbing jaw. Her eyes are widened as she pants.
''Ghost!?''
''You didn't bother to look before punching me!?''
''Oh, i dont think it would've made a fucking difference''
Her hands ball into fists, her eyes blazing fire. ''How the hell did you find me!?''
''That cheap party wig isn't fooling anyone, love.'' I sneer condescendingly
''And why did you fucking sneak up behind me like a Psycho!''
''You should be fucking gratefull it was me, and not one of the two fuckers clearly looking for you!'' I yell, my temper rising with hers. ''I thought i taught you better than that!''

''You taught me a lot of things.'' She sneers.
I sigh. The tension once again burning between us. Part of me was relieved to find her unharmed and at this place instead of with Night or Vince. But I knew dealing with her rage was soon to follow.

''Look, y/n..'' I growl.
''It was Atlas, right?'' She cuts me off. ''I knew he took way too long on that damn laptop of his!''
She takes a step closer to me, her anger matching my own.
''And i bet you didn't come alone did you!?''
''Price and Soap are a little busy trying to get back our stolen van!'' I sneer back. ''What the hell were you thinking riling your little friends up and leaving without a goddamn word!''
''Oh, thats so fucking rich coming from you! Were you that fucking drunk you forgot that you casually mentioned Night was the one who killed Four!? Were you ever planning on telling me the goddamn truth for once!?''
My temper flares ever more as I take a step towards her. ''For god's sake-.. I did that to fucking protect you from doing THIS!'' I feel my breathing quickening as I stare her down.
''Charging in like a fucking loose canon! You never THINK. You just always DO as your goddamn please and DAMN the consequences!''
I see her eyes widen slightly and knew I struck a nerve, but I am not stopping now. My voice lowers slightly.
''Sarah is barely healed, Atlas is not trained for close combat. You have one third of a squad AT MOST. And you're telling me thats enough to take down BOTH Vince and Night!?''
''I would have handled-....''
''No.'' I can no longer hide the disappointment in my voice. ''You wouldn't have. Face it y/n, as much as you want to hate me right now you need us to do this with you. ''
I try to calm down my rising anger, to keep my voice steady.
''I know I messed up. I should have told you sooner about what Night said, but this is exactly what I was afraid of. You're putting your teammates, your friends, in danger. Not to mention-...''
I swallow. ''Yourself.''
She averts my gaze, and it tells me immediately she knows I'm right. Hell, I bet she knew all along that what she was doing was just wrong. Her emotions once again got the best of her.
I lower my voice, taking a deep breath to calm myself down.
''Now can we pleasure bury the hatchet, and be civil towards each other for once?''
Her lip tightens as her eyes slowly turn to mine.
''We were.''
Her words hang heavy, and a silence follows. Her expression changes and it's like I'm seeing right into her soul. I stay quiet as I study her eyes which seem to be replaying our moment in Price's office. The way I had gently wiped away her tears..the way she pressed her small hand against my cheek, her thumb caressing it comforting..lovingly.
At that moment we were more than just civil. And we both know it.
I thought it was all gone. After she found out I lied to her. I was certain I screwed up beyond preparation.
But eyes never lie.

My body moves on its own as I flush my chest against hers, the realisation making my heartbeat quicken. The air shifts from tension to.. something else.
She doesn't react, doesn't push me away. Her glossy eyes snap to mine and I find my gloved hand gently grabbing her chin, tilting it up slightly. I gaze down at her, my eyes softening at the sight of her.
''I'm sorry..'' I murmur, my voice filled with regret. ''I never wanted you to find out the way you did.''
She takes a shaky breath, her eyes searching mine. She hesitates on what to say.
''Do you hate me?'' I ask her, my voice uncharastically vulnerable.
Her eyes keep searching mine.
''No..'' She finally breathes , after what feels like forever.
''No?''
''No.''
She takes the hand holding her chin in hers, squeezing it reassuringly.
My turn to search her eyes. Gauging her thoughts.
''I was angry..and hurt..But I-...'' She swallows the lump in her throat, her gaze turning to the floor. ''This was a mistake, you're right.. I am putting Sarah and Atlas in danger by rushing into this..again...i really am reckless, and liable...and-..''
I smile softly, bringing our hands to my chest as I take a moment before cutting her off.
''You're also determined, strong and braver than most....'' My voice is low, but soft and sincere as I gently squeeze her hand.
''You never back down. Hell, you even manage to keep me on my toes most of the time.''
She slowly smiles back at me, those beautiful eyes turning even glossier.
''Even if it drives me crazy, I also.. admire you for it.'' I confess softly.
She takes another shaky breath.
''I wanted so badly to hold my own, to get my revenge. To... be a leader like Four was..''
I exhale through my nose at her also rare display of vulnerability. Hearing her say those words, the sadness behind them..
I can't stop my free hand from moving to her cheek, my thumb slowly caressing it.
My voice dropping even lower, barely audible.
''You will become a leader..like no one has ever seen before.'' I murmur, slightly shocked by my own sincerity. No matter the odds, the flame she carries sets her apart from everyone I've ever met. My half-lidded eyes lock slowly on hers, as I feel myself subconsciously move closer.
Her breathing hitches, a flash of uncertainty in her eyes before they also turn hazy.
''Ghost..I..''
''I know.''
At this moment there is no holding back. I feel consumed by her. My anger, my worry, my frustration.. It's all gone.
All that's left is her. And this moment. My raging heartbeat thundering in my chest.

Damn the consequences.

With a quick pull, I move the fabric of my mask to my nose, and before I can think twice, my lips crash against hers.Relishing every moment, I lose myself in the softness of her lips against mine.I feel her tensing up slightly, but doesnt step back. It only takes her a second to kiss me back with the same intensity.

If I believed in heaven, this would be it.
