[Y/N]

I knew he would be pissed.

But I meant it when I said it.

It's been over een week, and Ghost didnt make an appearance again in my hospital room.

Today I will be escorted back to the main med bay, to recuperate.

I haven't tried to walk yet, but let's say the times I had to stand were already challenging.

No way I will be out in the field any time soon.

I wheeze as I sit up, my hand tightly around my ribs. Those will take a month to heal.

As I glance down I see my locket shining in the window sunlight around my neck. I feel so relieved to have it back.

''Can you tell him the same? Hm? Go on. Tell him you're happy to die avenging him. I'm sure he will be THRILLED.''

Ghosts' words ring in my head. I didn't know how to respond. He was right, as usual, but of course I was too proud to admit it.

I am not happy to die avenging Four. And he wouldn't be either, surely. I made an oath to myself that I'd never let another team member die on my watch, and the only way to make sure of that is to do it myself.

But i guess, it was a bit harsh of me to say it like that, they risked their lives to come and save me. Only for me to tell them I was actually prepared to die.

The regret sinks in. God, why is it so hard to have a normal conversation with him?. For some reason every encounter we have results in a destructive clash.

I very slowly move my legs to the side of the bed as I sit on the edge. I feel slightly dizzy and need a second to catch my breath.

The floor feels cold as I can barely reach it with the tip of my toes.

This might be the worst shape I've ever been in.

The nurses told me that there is no tracing of the Vine in my blood, or anywhere else. But they also told me that they cant exclude that it doesn't still like, exist within me. If that makes sense.

My memories are a bit faded. But I do remember Ghost giving me a blue vial.

I can only wonder what kind of junk is needed to counter the red one.

It makes me shiver. I try not to think about it too much. I only care about getting better as soon as possible. Along with my revenge, naturally.

I grab the stand of my IV as I slowly try to pull myself up to my feet. I manage to stand, but my legs are shaking. I pant, holding the stand with two hands as I feel my whole body tremble.

I might have overestimated myself.

My vision becomes a bit blurry. I try to reach for my bed but I can't turn around. Shit.

I gasp as I buckle slightly through my knees. Holding on to the IV so as to not plummet to the floor.

Just when I feel like I'm about to fall. I feel two arms wrap around me and lift me up with ease.

I look through my eyelashes, but my vision is blurry.

''You shouldn't be up, Lass.'' Soap mumbles as he sets me gently down on a wheelchair stationed not far from my bed.

I chuckle softly, feeling relieved he happened to enter my room just in time. ''I was never good at following orders..'' I joke, my voice faint as I try to get back to my wits.
