[Ghost]
I follow her, matching her movements as to dodge the trees. Only having the moonlight to guide us.
I fucking hate you. Her words ring in my head. I grit my teeth. I know I was blunt, harsh even. But what did she expect?
She really thinks a trauma from two years ago should affect her work like this?
It scares me thinking what kind of trouble she would've gotten herself into if i wasn't there to stop her. To protect her, even if it's from herself.
And now she is angry, hurt. She finally told me her secret and even though I tried to be compassionate, it's not something I do, per se.
There was a reason why I pushed Soap forward as a comforter instead of me.
But, I did ask for it. I had to know, as I had to understand the gravity of it.
Her connection to that man.But now I am afraid the way I handled it only made things worse. For any future co-op mission that is. Not that she will be on this kind of mission ever again. As soon as we're back to base, I am informing Price to take y/n off of this mission. it's too personal, too dangerous for her. If this Vince guy has some grudge on her, which very well could be after she beat the shit out of him, she will be in great danger.
Only problem, she doesn't know that yet. And she will not be happy when she finds out.
I shake my head as I try desperately to follow a seething y/n through the forest. Does she even know where she is going?
''Wait Y/N'' I command. ''We have to pinpoint our loc-''
''Go to hell''
Alright, that didn't work.
I sigh. I have absolutely no control over this girl, and it drives me fucking insane.
''That was an order, Y/N'' I try again, my tone harsher, making sure she knows I mean business.''I keep telling you you cant let your emotions-..''
A loud rumble makes my words hitch in my throat. Quickly followed by an ear deafening explosion.
The impact of it kicks us both off our feet. A thick blanket of smoke is falling over us, separating us from each other.
A loud ringing sounds in my ears. I'm feeling disoriented as I lay on my stomach. The explosion didn't hit me directly, but the force of it was enough to slam me to the ground.
''Y/N!'' I yell, my voice breaking as I start to cough. Spitting out the ash and dirt.
Damn, I miss my balaclava.
''Y/N!'' I shout again, a bit clearer this time.
No response. Goddamnit.
I shield my eyes as I stand up, making my way to where y/n was previously walking.
I find her. She lays on the ground, face down. Covered in dirt and ash.
''Fucking hell.''
I rush over to her, flipping her gently on her back. Her eyes are closed and there is a little stream of blood coming from her mouth. My instincts grip her wrist, a little too roughly as I check for her pulse.
Second time this day I'm confirming she is alive.
A soft high pitched squeak sounds as y/n softly inhales. I look at her, her labored breathing worries me, as I can only imagine what damage the explosion did to her.
