[Ghost]

The sound of my heavy boots running down the hallways echo in my ears.

Two beeps. That's all I need to come running back to her.

My heart beats loudly in my chest as I almost slide down the corners, not wasting another second. All this time, this bastard has been lurking in the shadows. I was oblivious to the obvious, the thought alone sends a fiery rage through my body. How did I not see it before that my attacker wouldn't leave until his business was finished..

Nothing will stop me ever again from taking down any threat towards my men.

The knot forming in my stomach almost confirms my suspicion that Price and Soap might have fallen into a trap. But I can't be sure yet. I have to stay calm and focus on the target ahead.

Night.

If he isn't in his cell, if my attacker DID manage to free him ,even though we have him under constant surveillance, who knows what they have planned together.

What Vince has planned.

With Price and Soap out of the base we only have recruits roaming around, most of them out on missions anyway. Our numbers are low, far too low for such a threat to be countered.

I'm really counting on you , Laswell.

I yank the big metal door open which leads to the hallway of the interrogation rooms.

The scene in front of me immediately makes my blood run cold.

Two unconscious recruits lay on the floor. I immediately dash over to the two young men. As I check their vitals, confirming they are really just unconscious, my gut already tells me everything I need to know.

Night escaped.

The panic immediately surges through my body as I grab my radio.

''Y/n, do you copy.'' I yell into it as I pace around.

The radio immediately crackles. Gladly, she wasn't acting stubborn now and stays in contact like I asked her to.

''This is Y/n, How copy.'' Her soft voice sounding over the radio immediately makes my heart jump.

''Are you with Laswell?''

''Yes, Sarah is locked up and guarded.. we are near the armory to stack up.''

I glare at the unconscious soldiers on the floor as I listen to her talk. Laswell must have missed the escape on the video surveillance as she was away from her office..

''Y/n listen to me, don't panic..'' I try to keep my voice calm and steady.''Night got out. Stick to Laswell, arm up and prepare for anything. I will be there asap.''

She stays quiet on the other side, as I hear her take a shaky breath.

''Ghost, repeat your last..''

''Night is out. Arm up and stick with Laswell. I am on my way.''

It stays quiet for a few seconds, just as I want to urge her to answer me, she finally does.

''Solid copy.''

I let out a relieved sigh as I put my radio away, immediately jolting upwards back into the main hallways of the base.

My mind is racing as fast as I am. Will he immediately go looking for y/n? for Sarah?
