[Y/N]
The sun rises as I drive the van through the woods. Sarah is asleep as she sits behind me in the backseat, I occasionally glance at her through the rearview mirror. Her red hair falling over one shoulder as her cheek rests against the cold window. Her mouth slightly agape as her chest rises and falls steadily.
Atlas sits next to me with his small laptop. He has been typing ever since we left the base, tracking Night's location and forming a plan to take him and Vince out once and for all.
This will be our revenge, for Four.
My eyelids feel heavy as I feel my grip on the steering wheel slipping a bit. My hands are covered by a cold sweat. I have been driving all night, not stopping for anything.
Once Ghost wakes, he will know I left, and he will surely come after me.
This has to be quick. We don't need 141 for this.
Normally I would feel bad for taking their van and supplies, to leave without saying a word. Price surely won't be happy, I think I can say goodbye to my spot at 141.
Not that I wanted to stay anyway.
My fingers tighten around the wheel as I picture Ghost's stupid drunk face.
Traitorous Idiot.
''Y/n?''
Atlas voice cuts through my deep thoughts as I blink.
''Yeah?'' my voice sounds rugged from the lack of sleep.
''I can take over so you can rest..'' Atlas looks at me, his expression softening behind his glasses. ''You have been driving for hours.''
I shake my head. ''Im fine.''
He frowns, his eyes glancing to the road ahead. ''I see you swerving.''
''I just got lost in thought.'' I mutter as my grip tightens again, roughly adjusting the vans position on the road.
Atlas' lips tighten, but he doesn't say anything else. He knows better than to keep pestering me. I know he is worried, but it's not like I can sleep now anyway.
Once we are out of the woods, I glance over at him.
''How far?''
''At least another hour.''
I curse under my breath. ''Where the hell is he hiding?''
''I can only track him so far, it might lead to a dead end..those guys are careful.''
"I'll say.''
My eyes snap suddenly to the dashboard as a symbol lights up.
Fuel.
I curse as I pull over at the nearest gas station.
I stop so abruptly Sarah jolts awake. Looking dazed and a bit alarmed.
''Sorry.'' I mutter softly towards her. ''We're just stopping for gas. Go back to sleep.''
Sarah jawns as she rubs her eyes. ''Where are we?'' She asks groggy.
Atlas holds his laptop up, showing her the map.
''Just outside of the forest. We will encounter some vast plains before entering the city.''Sarah hums. As I get out of the car I see her door opening as well. She jumps out, trailing me.
''Y/n.''I open the fuel tank, looking at her. ''Yeah?''
Sarah rubs her hands over her arms, hugging herself as she stands with me in the cool morning air.
