Cosette was hanging out with Fred and George when all of a sudden they were called to an emergency order meeting. She knew as much about Harry's bad dreams as he could tell her through the mail that was being checked, but she never expected him to leave school and take himself to the Department of Mysteries. The reports were hazy, but it seemed like he thought that he thought that Sirius was being held hostage by death eaters there.

She, of course, was left behind when the members of the order rushed off to see what was going on. She couldn't help but feel like she was going to throw up. It was the first real fight with the death eaters since Voldemorts return and she couldn't help but expect the worst. Fred and George were allowed to go under the condition that they stick close by an order member. They understood the importance that their youth could bring, after all, they were not too much older than then when the first war was happening.

She waited and waited and waited for what felt like an eternity members of the order came trickling into grimuled place with pale looks on their faces. No one spoke to Cosette, but she could tell something was wrong by the look of pity they casted her as they sat down at the table. She simply passed out mugs of tea and waited patiently for someone to tell her what was going on. Finally, her father came in with tears in his eyes, and knelt down in front of where she was sat to speak to her. For a moment he stood still, trying to gather his thoughts and pull himself together through the tears to tell her what had happened.

"What happened?" She asked, beginning to get impatient. Lena put a hand on his back comfortingly, and took his place knelt in front of her.

"Remus..." She started. "Remus was injured"

"What do you mean, injured," She asked confused. "What happened?"

"What happened?" She asked again, still not quite understanding the seriousness of what she was being told. Sirius knelt again beside Lena and his hands shook as he explained.

"He was hit with the killing curse," Sirius said, almost unrecognizable through how violently his hands were shaking. "He's at St. Mungo's now, we aren't sure... we don't know if he's going to make it."

"The killing curse?" She asked astonished. "And he survived?"

"If he hadn't been wearing my necklace," Sirius said, his hands lingering around his empty neck,"This conversation would be going very differently, but he was, and it saved him enough that he was taken out alive, though barely. We aren't sure how it works exactly."

"He might be okay," Lena told her, taking over for Sirius so he could go cry. She put a hand on Cosette's cheek softly, wiping away a tear that had finally fallen from her cheek. "If he wakes up, he'll be okay."

"If," She repeated. "What happened?"

Lena then explained everything, about how when they got there Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and their friend Luna were all being held hostage. Shit broke loose as soon as Dumbledore arrived, and Bellatrix Lestrange had been aiming for Sirius when Remus got in the way. There was a huge fight, ending with Voldemort himself making an appearance. He even stayed long enough for the minister of magic and several other people to see him, making his return official. He had been after a prophecy, one which Harry had been smart enough to destroy as well as millions of others in the department of mysteries.

The minister also saw Sirius, something that Dumbledore was still trying to explain while they got the hell out of there before he got arrested. Fred and George had accompanied Remus to the hospital while Molly accompanied the children to the hospital as well. As much as Lena wanted to be with Remus, she knew there was nothing that she could do for them and she was desperate to hear what Dumbledore had to say about Sirius. With any luck it would be good news, as it was clear that Sirius was fighting for their side. It was all so complicated, but Cosette was encouraged to meet Fred and George at the hospital where she could sit with her father.

Fred was in the lobby waiting for her when she arrived there, and took her up to the familiar Janus Thickly ward of the hospital on the fourth floor which dealt with spell damage. She was greeted by the very familiar face of Healer Darcy, who was head of the ward. He was not the healer who dealt with her magical curse when she arrived at the hospital, but he was one of her more exclusive and private customers at the Bloom Bunker, always in search of some rare ingredient for his experiments and potions that he attempted to create for his patients. He was not the only staff of St. Mungos who was a patient of the Bloom Bunker, but he was the most influential, and she knew that he would take good care of her father.

"Cosette, it's good to see you again, though I am saddened that it is under these circumstances," he spoke his words to her as he always did, and all she could do was nod as she was brought into the small curtained off section of the hospital that was now her fathers.

George rose from his seat as soon as she stepped in, and she hugged him and thanked his for staying at her fathers side while no one else could. She appreciated him looking out for her family and it warmed her heart just a little under the circumstances.  She sat, and all they could do was wait and hope and worry.
