Ah yes, Thursdays. Your least (and most) favorite day of the week.

Why?

Therapy.

AAAHHHH-

"So that's why I can't work for the next two weeks. I know it's not my responsibility, but it's too late to back out," You tell Sam that morning before school, "I'm sorry for the short notice, I really am."

"You know, you're lucky I like you and you're also such a good worker," Sam sighs dramatically while shaking his head, "I assume you mean to say it's starting today, yes?"

"Yes, sir."

Sam sighs and shakes his head, "Somehow, I can't bring myself to be that upset with you."

You ended up just telling Sam the truth. You tried to lie about it at first, like how Jade suggested. But just as you were about to do it, you just... couldn't. You and Sam aren't particularly close, but you like to think of him as your friend as well as your employer. You two have formed a bond, and you cherish the trust you have for each other just as much as you cherish every other relationship.

So no, you couldn't just lie to his face when he doesn't deserve your dishonesty. You're glad that you did what you did though; you're free of guilt, Sam knows what you're actually getting into, and he seems to be taking it surprisingly well.

"Won't this seriously hinder you, little imp? I imagine for someone like you, exams will be particularly harder for you," Sam crosses his arms.

You mimic his actions unintentionally, "What's that supposed to mean? I was given permission to do everything in English, so what's the issue?"

Wait-Does he know that you're not from Twisted Wonderland?! That you're a Demon Slayer? Or that you're a Princess?! OH, GOD! WHAT DOES HE KNOW?!

"Headmage Crowley told most of the staff that you aren't from this world," Sam says casually, "That's why you can't use magic, or read and write the common language. That's also why Dark Mirror couldn't assign you to a dorm. That is correct, yes?"

"...Is that all that he told you guys?"

"Yes. To be honest, he didn't have much choice. After all, nearly all the teachers were demanding an explanation as to why a magicless, female student would be allowed to attend Night Raven College."

You sigh heavily. Well... it's better than the alternative, you think. And you suppose you can't get upset with Crowley this time, since if he didn't supply an explanation, you both would've been in a tight spot. Though you suppose after a brief period of homelessness, the Royal Council would've found you eventually via Ishmahri's abilities.

...

Actually, that outcome would've been so much worse.

You would never have met your friends. You would never have learned to forgive yourself and allow yourself to keep loving others. You would never have fun adventures with your friends (as annoying as they are sometimes) and teach them the value of friendship and crap.

You would have never gotten the pleasure to get to know Grim truly.

"I guess it can't be helped, I'll silently forgive him for now," You hold your hands up in an "oh well" manner, "It's true, though. So... Yeah, I guess I kind of do have it a little harder than the average student because of it."
