Your face is painted with disdain as you and your gaggle of friends stand a handful of meters away from the gated carnival.

Kaiko is wearing the uniform he wears on campus, which is to say nothing new. Pyro, meanwhile, isn't wearing his signature red hoodie that he loves so much. He took Crewel's words seriously and is basically in the same getup as Kaiko. His vest is bright blue, and his tie is rather messy. (You don't know if he did it messy on purpose or not, but you felt bad that you couldn't fix his tie in a sexy way since you don't know how to tie a tie.) Pyro's sleeves were pushed up to his elbows and he wasn't wearing his gloves. Crewel is wearing what he usually wears as well, but to your surprise, he ditched his big, fur coat.

Respectfully... smash.

You will admit that the carnival looks very nice and is huge from what you can see where the gate circles around the area. There's a ferries wheel not too far away as well as a few roller coasters. Can this even be considered a carnival anymore? And there are also a few circle tents around, one of them much bigger than the rest. Everything was red, white, green, and blue-coded, giving it a strange, chaotic feel to it all.

"This is... really cool," Pyro grins, putting his hands on his hips, "I've always been a huge fan of circuses and such. Looks like this place has a bit of everything, too. No wonder it's so popular."

"Meh, I can live without it," You say, "Sadly we can't have too much fun here, we're on the clock to figure out how Xavier White wants to thrash our asses this time around."

"What are we even looking for again?" Kaiko asks, standing close to Pyro and clutching his sleeve.

"The email said the House of Mirrors is haunted by ghosts or ghouls or whatever. I doubt there's anything actually there though, I think it's just supposed to give us something to do and distract us from what's actually going on here."

Crewel nods in agreement, "I have a hunch that the anonymous sender might still be here. But... that's something we'll figure out once we get in. Are you three ready?"

"But we still haven't established what we're exactly gonna do here...!"

"You're right, Kaiko," Pyro pats the pink-haired boy on the hand, "In that case, I suggest we split up-"

"-Okay, I know you're not that white, Pyro. We cannot split up!" Kaiko scolds, "Literally in every game and show and movie, you're not supposed to split up!"

"First of all, you didn't have to call me out like that. Second, I was going to say we split up in pairs," Pyro sighs with blushing cheeks, "This place is big, and the more ground we can cover, the better."

"Normally, I think that's fine. But since it's just us four, and I'm the only one that can actually kill a ghost, and this is very obviously a trap..." You say, tapping the hilt of your sword, "It might be best for us to stick together on this one."

The redhead nods, "Okay, sounds good to me. You said this morning that people would watch the Ringmaster's show, and then going to the House of Mirrors will result in the haunting activity. I think we should find the main tent to start there."

"It's settled then. Now..." You sulk your shoulders, "the anonymous staff told us they left behind the keys and access card, but we had to find it ourselves. It should be close to the gate."

In Pyro's head, he thinks if he treats this as a video game, then he'll hopefully be less traumatized by the end of the night! The last ghost hunt was fucking crazy and he still sees the images of a weird demonic body behind his eyes at night. It might be the weird part of him that he tries to keep locked away because of his past, but he can't say he necessarily hated being traumatized. Pyro likes to think it adds to his character, and it was still an exhilarating night for him after 18 years of nothing.
