8 years old, Natsume's POV

Natsume: Daddy! Daddy!
Father: What is it Natsume?
Natsume: Look!
I changed into a cat.
Father: Wow! That is amazing!
Mother: Keep working harder and you will surpass your father.
Father: He sure will.

10 years old

Father: Run Natsume!
Natsume: Why Daddy!?
Father: Run! Go!
I heard an unpleasant sound from my ears. My eyes was full of tears and red paint was splash on my cheek. I sat on my knees next to daddy.
Natsume: D-Daddy. Why aren't moving? There is red paint on you. Come on daddy, stop sleeping!
I felt something cold on my forehead. I looked up to see one of the men from town.
Man: So. The demons had a child. This must be a devil too.
Natsume: Mister. What is this on my head?
Man: It's a gun you brat! I'm gonna kill you too with ýour parents.
Natsume: You killed mommy and daddy.
Man: Yes I did!
I heard a gun click.
Man: Your next.
I quickly used my invisability and went behind the man and slashed his head off. I saw this red egg floating in the air and it smelled good.

I took it and ate it. It was really good, I want more.
Man 2: Do you think Jason finished the job.
Man 3: Let's check.
I quickly killed them and ate their souls. It tasted good. I ran inside the house and packed my stuff. I ran outside and looked back at the house.
Natsume: Good bye Mommy, Daddy.
I lite a match
Natsume: I'll miss you.
I threw it on the house and it caught on fire. I teleported away (another power I can do) from the house and walked away.

6 months later
I killed another person. my hunger for souls are increasing. Daddy told me I would be like this when I eat my first soul. I learned there are two types of souls. One is that red one. It's soul would be consumed in darkness and it tasted a little spicy. There was a pure blue soul.

The soul came from regular humans who have no regrets but I actually learned there is one more rare soul. It is a pure white soul. I heard it was so good. I was walking in the streets until I bumped into a man

Natsume: Sorry.
?: That's alright Natsume.
Natsume: How do you know my name?!
?: Let's not talk here.
I followed him into a shop called Undertakers. I looked around to see coffins everywhere.
?: Please sit down!
I sat on a coffin
Undertaker: My name is Undertaker! I'm a shinagami and your father's friend.
Natsume: Really?
Undertaker: Yep! I'm also your god father. Your father told me to train you with a scythe.
Natsume: Really! Cool.
Undertaker: Let's get started!

2 years later

Natsume: Undertaker! I don't want to leave you!
Undertaker: Sorry Natsume. Your father said that I only train you for 2 years then I need to let you go.

Undertaker: You can visit me any time and here is a ring.

I walked straight a head to see a church and a little girl with blond hair.

Girl: Hello! What's your name?
Natsume: Natsume. *emotionless*
Girl: I'm Yui! Want to play with me.
Natsume: Play?
Yui: Yeah! Let's play tag!
Natsume: Tag?
Yui: You don't know what tag is?
Natsume: No.
Yui: Then I will teach you!
Yui ran up to me and touch my shoulder.
Yui: Tag! Your it!
She ran away from me. Why? Yui saw my confused face and giggled.
Yui: Silly! You have to chase me now and tag me.
I ran to Yui and tagged her
Natsume: What now?
Yui tagged me again and ran away from me.
Yui: Do all over again!
I smiled and ran over to Yui. Chasing her. We were doing this all day. When we stopped, we laid on the ground, watching the sun set.
Yui: That was fun friend!
Natsume: Friends?
Yui: We are friends now right!
Natsume: Friends.
Yui holds up her pinky.
Yui: Wrap your pinky around mine.
I did.
Yui: Now. Pinky promise that we are friends forever.
Natsume: *smiles* Friends forever.
Yui: You smiled!
A man came out of the church.
Man: Yui! Time to get inside!
Yui: Okay father! Natsu-kun! I want you to meet my father.
Me and Yui ran to her father
Father: Who is this.
Yui: My new friend!
Natsume: It's nice to meet you. I'm Natsume Kurosaki.
Father: Nice to meet you. Are you friends with Yui?
Natsume: Yes sir.
Father: Do you have a family?
Natsume: No.
Father: Then you can join ours.
Natsume: Really. Are you sure?
Father: Yes.
Yui: Yay! We're family!
Yui jumped and hugged me. I smiled and hugged back.
Natsume: Yeah. Family.
