Marcus and Lily were at school, and the unit attended to CFD's assist.

"What's going on?" Hank asked.

Boden looked at the unit, and spoke.

"Apartment fire." Boden replied.

Jay noticed the apartment, it was his dad's.

"How many floors?" Jay asked.

"23." Boden answered.

"My dad lives on 23." Jay clarified.

Boden picked up his radio, and radioed Casey.

"Casey, I want you, to head to floor 23, Jay's dad, could be on one of the levels." Boden ordered.

"Copy!" Casey replied.

After a few minutes. Erin guided Jay outside, to get some airtime.

"It's gonna be okay, baby, we'll find your dad." Erin smiled.

Jay drank the water, and sighed.

After Awhile. Casey carried Pat towards the ambulance.

"DAD!" Jay yelled.

Jay rushed over, and held Pat's hand.

"It's okay, daddy, It's okay." Jay repeated.

"I'm o-okay, son." Pat spluttered.

Louise placed the oxygen mask over Pat's face.

"Listen, My brother, he works at Chicago Med, he has our dad's medical records." Jay explained.

Louise nodded, and wheeled Pat into the ambulance.

"Let's go, I'll drive!" Hank suggested.

The unit all got into their cars, and drove to Med.

Soon. Will and Jay were visiting their dad.

"Pop, you can't always play hero, if someone's in danger." Jay explained.

"Grr, I didn't ask for your opinion." Pat grumbled.

"Pop?" Will done a look.

"It's alright, nothing new." Jay muttered.

Will checked Pat's records, and found nothing abnormal.

"You stole my money, Jay." Pat snarled.

"Your kidding, right? I was trying to help you, dad!" Jay exclaimed.

Pat grumbled, and leant back.

"Get out! Go on! Get out!" Pat ordered.

Jay held his hands up, and walked out.

"That was uncalled for." Will shook his head.

Pat looked away, and closed his eyes.

Back outside. Erin was trying to console Jay, before Lily and Marcus walked in.

"It's okay, baby, your dad. he didn't mean it." Erin whispered.

Jay sighed, and saw his kids walk in.

"Is mama, and daddy, okay?" Lily babbled.

Trudy nodded, and pointed at Erin and Jay.

"MAMA! DADA!" Marcus squealed.

Erin and Jay picked up their kids, and kissed their heads.

Interrupting the small reunion. Marcel had news.

"Sorry, but, can I borrow you, Jay?" Marcel asked.

Jay placed Lily down, and nodded.

"Sure, what's up?" Jay asked.

Marcel took a breath, and spoke.

"We did everything we could, to save your dad, but, his heart just gave up, he's gone." Marcel explained.

Jay felt like a hole in his heart, had just opened.

"W-Wow, Where's Will? Why didn't he tell me?" Jay blurted out.

"Jay-." Marcel started.

Jay rushed off, and went to find his brother.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!!" Jay raged.

Will saw the anger in his brother's face, so he pulled him into the breakroom.

"I had to hear it from Crockett, You were to chicken, to tell me?" Jay asked.

Will tried hugging Jay, but got shoved off.

"No! No! I wanna know, why you didn't tell me!" Jay exclaimed.

Will knew this part, was gonna go badly.

"Jay, I asked Crockett, to turn off dad's life support." Will sighed.

Before Jay knew it. Jay punched Will's face.

Will tumbled back, and held his nose.

"Will? You okay?" The Guard asked.

Will licked the blood off his lips, and nodded.

"I can get someone to escort this man out?" The Guard suggested.

Jay got manhandled by two guards, with Erin stepping in.

"Get your hands off my husband, now!" Erin ordered.

"He attacked a doctor, we're arresting him." Patrol replied.

Hank came over, and spoke.

"Sergeant Hank Voight, Intelligence, let go of my detective." Hank flashed his badge.

Patrol let Jay go, and Jay ran into Erin's arms.

"I got you, baby, I got you." Erin soothed.

Jay sobbed, and buried his head in Erin's shoulder.

"Shh. Let it out, baby." Erin spoke softly.

A Few hours later. Jay was sleeping on Will's lap, on Pat's bed.

"Jay wanted it." Will whispered.

The unit nodded, and sat on the chairs.

"Jay's not gonna forgive himself, is he?" Antonio asked.

Will sighed, and stroked Jay's hair back.

"Well, It'll take awhile." Will spoke.

Antonio nodded, and sat back.

"Well, we're more than partners, we're family." Hank spoke up.
