'He told me sweet lies of sweet loves
Heavy with the burden of the truth
And he spoke of his dreams
Broken by the burden of his youth

"Fourteen years", he said,
"I couldn't look into the sun.
She saw him laying at the end of my gun."

Hungry for life, and thirsty for the distant river
I remember his hands
And the way the mountains looked
The light shot diamonds from his eyes

Like the scar of age, written all over my face
The war is still raging inside of me
I still feel the chill, as I reveal my shame to you
I wear it like a tattoo...'

Sirius,

Hope things are all good on your end.
I've got a small update since my last, I've been going out with this girl for about two months now, things are going pretty good. She was actually my date to the Yule Ball a few years back.
I wasn't the most interested at the time, so it's just as well she decided to give things a real shot this time. I really like her, I'm hoping to bring her to meet you guys for a bit this summer? We'll talk it out more closer to the time, if you and Hera say yes.

I don't know if you knew this already, but I found out that it was Snape that told Voldemort about the prophecy all those years ago. He as good as sent them to their death. I hated him before, but this takes an all time high.
I don't think I'll be attending his lessons for the rest of term — hopefully Dumbledore can overlook that, knowing the situation himself. I can make up any 'knowledge' I would've missed in his class through my friends notes, anyway. I feel if I went to his class, I might actually kill him. Obviously I won't, but I'm beyond angry. Even writing this now has just pissed me off all over again.

Do you still feel angry with what happened? I don't know if it's my right to feel anger, since I was a baby when it happened and I don't really remember them. I hope you two run into each other again so you can give him the most disgusted look, I think that'd do it. Or at least, fill my need for vengeance.

My studies are calming down as we near the end of term. Can't say the same for Ron's younger sister — she'd is in the middle of her OWL's. That's never fun, but at least she doesn't have to deal with Umbridge.
Also, we won the Quidditch Cup! It was a pretty good margin — 450 to 140 — my first as Captain, too. I remember seeing the Quidditch archives in the library, that you used to play as Beater.
How was that, I don't think I ever asked much beyond if you liked the sport? Obviously.
