Siya ~

I need to give this talking Arjun out of punishing Vani and Amar one more chance. I just need to give it one more try.

" Ranaji." I called out for him in the throne room which was empty.

" Ranaji are you here?" I asked again, navigating through among the pillars, only to not find him anywhere.

" Might be in his office." I murmured to myself and left to find him.

" Arjunnn where are you?" I sang, reaching the office wing but the security person told me that he hadn't come here all day.

" Where could you possibly be?" I said out loud as if he would answer my question.

" Preeti bhabhi, do you know where Arjun is?" I asked when I spotted her running after Jahanavi.

" Yeah Siya, I saw him go towards the South Wing a while back." She replied and I gave her a thankful nod before catching Janu for her.

" There goes our little princess back to her mumma!" I exclaimed and she giggled.

" Are you all packed for Kashmir Badi Mumma?" She asked, very excited and I shrieked a yes which she imitated.

" Okay princess, go and help mumma pack while I do and find your Bade Papa and see what is he actually up to." I sighed and she gave me a toothy grin before bhabhi took her away and I asked one of the staff members to take me to the South Wing.

Yeah, the past year has told me that I am terrible at directions. Giving or taking them and I still haven't figured this palace out to save my life.

" Maharanisaa, this is the South Wing but no one is allowed inside without Ranaji's permission." He said before leaving me at it.

" Colour me desperate but I need to talk to Ranaji. What is the worse that could happen anyway? He'll just scold me a bit, if at all." I was talking to myself as I took the first step inside in what seemed like a series of dimly lit passageways.

The air grows heavy with a damp chill, and the flickering torchlight casts long, foreboding shadows along the narrow, winding corridors lined with thick, iron-barred cells as I continued to walk in.

" What in the name of Monjulika is this place?

As I neared the cells, a trail of emotions churned within me—fear, anger, and a flicker of relief upon seeing Arjun standing in front of a cell. Behind the iron bars, two figures knelt in silent submission, their faces shrouded in shadows.

My pulse quickened as I stood in the dimly lit dungeon, my eyes fixated on my husband. He exuded a commanding aura that sent a shiver down my spine. The flickering lights cast dramatic shadows, emphasising his rugged features and the intensity in his gaze.

Arjun's voice sliced through the heavy silence like a razor. "Your treachery has forfeited any mercy you might have hoped for from me. You will pay the price for your sheer audacity of trying to bring harm to Siya." Arjun's voice was ice-cold, cutting through the dungeon's heavy air.

" We...we are sorry Arjun. Please, we have a child who needs his parents. Mercy, please." I heard Amar's meek voice reverberate in the halls and I stood rooted to my spot, unable to take any step forward, neither did I found myself possessing the ability to turn around and walk away.

" A child you failed to look after? The very child you did not meet for the past six months and then brought him here to use him to meet your ends? Your child who is my nephew will be looked after better than the two of you ever have. He will be loved." Ranaji spoke for and I absolutely hated where this conversation was going.
