A few days went by after Crimson got with Tom. She hadn't spoken to Felix yet, god knows how many texts he'd sent her. She figured she needed to leave him, so she went over to his house and she let her in, guiding her to his bedroom.

"What did you wanna talk about?" Felix asked, a smile on his face. If Crimson hadn't know what she knew now, that kind demeanour would've broke her heart. Then again, she wouldn't be doing this if she didn't know.

"I went through your phone," she said. Felix's smile immediately changed into a face of shock and regret. "You fucked me the night of the party. And you cheated on me with some chick named Angela."

"Why the fuck did you go through my phone? Are you some sort of psycho?"

"I'm not here to argue, Felix. But we do need to break up."

"What?"

"You had sex with me while I was wasted and you've been cheating on me! You clearly have no respect for me. Last time I dated a man who didn't care for me, me and my best friend almost died. I can't be in a relationship like this, not again."

"You're not leaving me, Crimson."

"You don't get to decide that."

"Don't I?"

Felix reached for his bedside drawer, and Crimson felt herself begin to back out the bedroom. Still facing Felix, she reached for the door handle, but it was locked. Felix pulled the key out of his pocket.

"Didn't see me do that, did you? There's a lot of things you don't see, Crimson."

"Felix, I really don't want any trouble, please just let me go."

"Oh, but you're causing trouble for yourself by leaving."

Crimson felt a newfound confidence come over her. She'd never stood up to Ben until it was too late. That wasn't gonna happen with Felix.

"No, Felix, I'd cause trouble by staying with some mommy's boy who doesn't know how to respect women that didn't raise him!"

He finally reached into the bedside drawer, pulling something out and quickly hiding it before Crimson could see.

"You're gonna regret that."

"The only thing I regret is choosing you over all of the other guys that were lining up to fuck me. You know, when we had sex the other day, I faked it. Really big of you to try and control women when you can't even finish them off."

"That's okay, there's another way I can finish you off."

Finally, Felix moved his hand from behind his back. A gun. Jesus christ, where were all these men getting their guns from?

"You think I'm gonna fall for your stupid toy?"

Felix lifted the gun up and shot towards the very corner of his room, somewhere where a gunshot would be difficult to see. Now Crimson was scared. She yelped slightly when he shot the gun, shaking under his gaze. He stalked over to her and pressed the gun under her neck.

"Now you can easily go to the police after this, tell them what happened, get me arrested. But I'm not the only guy with one of these, and I'm not the only guy with the intention of using one on you, and your stupid friends, okay? No, there's me, there's my good friend, and we have other friends, too, who know your name, and our school, and you don't know where they are. The police are no use, so you're faced with two choice. You stay. You cut off those boys. You can keep Luna, she's not a threat to me. Or you can leave, and run the risk of my friends getting their hands on you and on your friends. On Marcus. On Tom. So what do you say?"

"Friends? You mean gang?"

"Gang is a strong word, makes us sound violent."

"You're being violent!"

Felix whacked Crimson across the face with the gun, causing her lip to bleed and her cheek to undeniably bruise.

"Made your decision? You gonna stay?"

"Fine."

"Good. And make sure you tell everyone that that bruise is from falling down the stairs."

Felix eventually let Crimson go, figuring he'd scared her into obedience. He had. She considered her option, she knew she could tell the police and he'd get arrested the second he was found with the gun. But what about his friends? He seemed to focus on one specific friend. Of course, all of his friends could hurt her, but one seemed to have a motive. Could it have been him? Surely not. He was gone.

She walked over to the twins house one last time. She knew Tom was home alone, he'd told her earlier when she'd texted him about breaking up with Felix. When Tom opened the door, he was shocked to see Crimson crying, a bruise forming on her face and some blood still on her lip.

"Red, what the fuck? What happened?"

"He has a gun, Tom. If I broke up with him, he would've shot me. I was gonna just pretend to stay, then go to the police, but he had friends, who know me, and you, and our group, and our school, and- It's too dangerous. No matter what I do we're gonna get hurt I- I couldn't leave him, Tom. He wants me to cut you all off."

"Did he fucking hit you?" Crimson nodded, and Tom headed straight for the door, but Crimson held him back.

"He'll kill you."

"I don't give a fuck! He doesn't get to-"

"He'll kill me." Toms shoulders dropped, his tensity replaced with sadness. "Tom, I've already considered all of my options, and maybe I'll come up with something, but right now there's nothing I can do that has a good outcome. I just came to say goodbye."

"There has to be some other way, baby, he can't just control you like this. You can't go through this again."

"Go through this again? Tom, if I leave him, I'll go through worse. Do you know how much it hurts to be stabbed? Or to watch your best friend for your whole life slip away, then lose their memory for weeks? I can't go through that again." Tom was taken aback by Crimson's sudden yelling. She collected herself, being as calm as possible. "I'm sorry. I'll figure something out, I promise you, this isn't forever. But right now I need me to be safe, and everyone else. As long as I do what he says, he won't do anything. All I need is time."

"And all I need is you. We'll find his friends, Red, I'll find every single one of them!"

"How?" Tom was silent. "Exactly. Time, Tom. Time."

"So this is goodbye?"

"Not forever."

"I sure hope not."

Tom held Crimson's face, pulling her in for one last kiss. Their lips lingered on each others, breathing in each others scent, taste, aura. And just like that Felix pulled them apart yet again.

"I'm sorry, Tom," Crimson said as she left the house. Tom had tears in his eyes, but he'd die before crying in front of her.

"It's not your fault, Red."
