oceans of sunshine
as told by everest
The next morning, the sun was shining through my curtains, making your blonde locks look like oceans of sunshine. I couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful you were, inside and out. You didn't deserve this. You deserved the most flawless of things. Your worth made me feel like garbage, but somehow I liked it. I liked to bask in the glory of your amazement.
When you woke up, your eyes fluttered open and you met gazes with me, the smallest of smiles spreading on your lips. You reached up and put your hand on my face, stroking my cheek with your thumb. The butterflies in my stomach were going to war, but I let them battle.
"Thank you," you whispered. You sounded weak. Fragile.
I just shook my head. "Anything for you, Charlotte Marie."
