I smiled stepping down the steps of the jet.
I fixed the scarf around my head and lifted up shades.
"habibi welcome to Qatar"
I laughed at Niko's accent.
"just get in the car" I said climbing into the backseat.
I can't believe just like that we're back to racing.
We got to the hotel and Niko checked us in before me and Xena headed up to our rooms.
"get some rest" she said as she opened her door.
"you too!"
I pushed my suitcases into the room then turnt on the lights. I locked the door then started to unpack before taking a quick shower.
I put on my pajamas then laid down in bed.
It's currently 2 in the morning.
I yawned switching on the TV. I landed on some Turkish soap opera and just left it on for background noise as I scrolled through my insta feed.
Just as my eyes were about to drop my phone started buzzing.
I squinted down at it and saw that it was Lewis calling.
"what?" I whined answering him.
"why have you been ignoring me!? I thought you died! where were you Amani?"
I rolled my eyes.
"I could ask you the same thing"
"what are you talking about?"
"my grandmothers funeral Lewis. where were you?"
It hit him like a truck.
"o-oh my god Amani I'm so sor-"
"save it. good night Hamilton"
And with that I hung up the phone and drifted off to catch some z's.
I woke up a few hours later to banging from my door. I dragged myself out of bed and saw through the peephole, George and Lando.
I cracked the door and peeked out.
"what?" I whispered.
"we're going sand boarding" Lando said.
"so?"
"we want to invite you to come along dummy" George sassed.
I rolled my eyes.
"give me 20"
I closed back the door and quickly showered and got dressed.
Qatar is quite conservative and I respect their culture and beliefs so I shall not dress in my typical attire this week.
