Aga ch27 "God's Negligence"

I would like to clarify that Cross does not have OCD or some other disorder. He's just generally disgusted by mortals. I mean, if I were a god who has existed since the beginning of time and had the ability to see EVERYTHING that mortals do with their bodies and the other stuff they put on -ehem- stuff, and have spent most of my life in a pristine place without any form of dirt, I would be disgusted too. He'll get over it, though.

ALSO, some info on AUs might be different from canon. This is because I either:

- Got my info from other fanfics I've read

or

- Edited it to suit the story

sorry for  the wait, have...fun?

Horror tale, true to its name, was horrifying. Blood and magic are spread all over the place as dust floats in the air. Even though Nightmare has offered food for them, there are still stubborn monsters who think that it's some sort of trap to get them to be his puppets, so they refuse help and still resort to cannibalism.

You can't help those who don't want help after all.

Cross coughs at the terrible air. He knows that it's underground, but still, the air shouldn't be this stuffy. Secretly, under his coat, he creates a mask and puts it on when no one's looking.

He walks over to Horror's side.

Horror raises a brow. "Mask?" he says before nodding in understanding. "Air... bad... you okay?"

Cross shrugs it off, "I'll be fine." He looks around. Currently, boxes and crates of food surround them, ready to be distributed. "Where are we taking these?"

"Paps," Horror answers, "outside of... forest. Paps has... wagon."

"So Papyrus is outside of the forest waiting with a wagon?" Cross clarifies. "Why not drop these there in the first place? Why drop these here in the middle of the forest?"

"Other monsters... don't trust."

"We don't trust other monsters?"

"No..." Horror shook his head. "Us... other monsters?... don't trust... us..."

"Oh." Cross looked down, his brows furrowed. Why wouldn't they trust Nightmare? They're bringing in food, for god's sake!

Tsk. Mortals and their inability to recognize blessings. If he were to suddenly give them an infinite source of food, he's sure they'd be skeptical about it too.

A portal opened up behind them once again; out came Killer, Dust, and Nightmare, holding more crates of food. "These are the last of them," said Nightmare. "Let's hurry, better not to keep them waiting." Nightmare grabbed more boxes with his tentacle. "Cross," he turned to the other. "Are you comfortable with carrying these?"

Cross stared down the boxes with his hands on his hips. A thin layer of regular dust and monster dust sat on top innocently after drifting in the air. Cross's brows furrowed, a frown tugged at his mouth. No, he does not, in fact, want to touch those. The thought of getting dust on his hands disgusts him. Why did he come to the mortal realm again? He could have just stayed in plain empty X-Tale and messed with the balance war there. Why did he decide to come here again? Isn't he supposed to be adding gas to the fire? Why is he helping out?

... He's spiraling. Damn mortals and their overthinking tendencies. He didn't think that those were infectious and airborne.

Why is he here again? Oh right, he's here to investigate this... "Horror Tale AU." The game can wait.
