A/N- Okay, first I want to apologize for the way overdue chapter. But I was working a lot, and I also just celebrated my tenth year anniversary with my love. We went on a little vacation, and I was going to try to get a chap out before then, but with planning and packing and just trying to enjoy myself, I didn't have much time to mess with it. But anyway, I know those are just excuses and you're probably just ready for the next chapter, but still wanted to share what I've been doing with you!

And second... I know what Alyx and Amaya do...  is wrong. And selfish. It is. And not everyone is going to agree with it. After writing Wes's pov, it pisses me off being in his shoes, and I'm the one that wrote it that way. But it's how I chose to write my story. Alyx loves Amaya. I wouldn't say more than Wes, but it's a different type of love, obviously. But he'll always choose her over anyone else. And vice versa. Some might say that's fucked up, and some might think that's how it's supposed to be, but either way, it's how it is in his case. You'll eventually learn why he does what he does. (You'll learn even more reading his books, but of course you don't have to because I'm going to briefly explain it in this one before it's over with.) I just know they're both most likely going to get some hate, and I wanted to explain they have their reasonings.

Nothing really changed when we got back. My mom still hasn't talked to me. Amaya hasn't shown back up once. And Alyx... is still practically a ghost. One I miss very much. No matter how much I try messaging him, he doesn't respond. I've never had to go so long without seeing him. I didn't know not having him in my life would affect me this much. In fact, the only thing thriving in my life right now is my relationship. Everything about that's been great.

Dad makes sure to give me a call at least once a week, and I won't lie, I look forward to them every time, though they don't always last long. But it's nice having someone to talk to other than Ryland. I'm so used to having other people in my life. Everything's so different now.

Theo and Jared have been busy lately, so we haven't seen much of them. I'll text Theo sometimes, but his responses are usually slow. I just need a friend. I even thought about reaching out to Emma, but I decided against it. She's too... rambunctious, and I need calmness in my life right now.

I feel bad for Ryland because he's in the same boat as me. Since Theo and Jared are busy lately and Amaya off doing whatever the fuck she's doing, he hasn't had many friends to hang out with lately either. At least we have each other. I would lose it if I didn't have him.

It doesn't take long for July to get here, and it just so happens to be Alyx's birthday. Though a huge part of me wants to give up completely, I still find myself on my PlayStation sending him a happy birthday. Ryland catches me in the act as I send it, and his pity smile makes me feel embarrassed. He probably thinks I'm stupid for even trying when all it's proven to be is a waste of time.

"It's his birthday?" he asks, taking a seat beside me.

"Yeah. The asshole is nineteen."

"I wonder what he's doing for it."

"You mean if he's even alive," I remark.

"Wes..."

I roll my eyes. "It's a possibility and you know it. It's been two months. It's starting to look like the only possibility."

"I'm sure he's okay. He'll come back eventually."

"Yeah, thanks, but you don't have to keep telling me that bullshit. Because that's all that is. Bullshit." I didn't mean to snap on him. But this 'waiting and not knowing anything' is getting on my nerves.

"Wes-" A loud thudding against the door takes us by surprise. It's pretty late, so I don't know who would be knocking like that at this hour.

Ryland gets up to go answer it, and feeling slightly concerned, I stand up to go with him. A distraught Amaya isn't what I expected to see. Especially since we haven't seen her since that last time she was here. She looks so different. Unhealthier. She definitely hasn't been taking care of herself. The dark circles, chapped lips, and untamed hair are dead giveaways. Not to mention it looks like she lost weight.
