-CHAPTER 15-
—
The day kept going, but it quickly turned busy. June announced Timothy's birthday, so naturally, in response, he wanted everyone to comfort her for her parents divorcing... half the kids didn't even know what it was. Lucky bastards.. Anyway.
You've had a few run-ins with Sun, where he ended up being a little bit extra (how much have you made off of those gift cards-? Seriously!) yet. . . It still managed to come as a slight shock when Sun leaped to the opportunity of... basically using as many supplies as usual.
Obviously, you thought he'd be at least a little more wary of how many times Xavier visited..- actually, no. This is Sun we're talking about. He probably would suck it up for the kids' sake... which would also be adorable, but you don't want to fall down that rabbit hole again, at least not for a bit.
To avoid letting yourself back out and to save yourself from awkwardly trying to start the conversation.... you sent Guy a text, which read: 'Are you still picking me up today? I want to talk.' Guy didn't respond yet, but it's fine... you're decently patient, no need to rush anything. Besides, it's work hours.
The workers chirped as usual... almost. Maybe anti-cupid is in the air, sounded like Worker B was having a few issues with his girlfriend—you and Worker A both originally thought that C was trying to counsel him a bit... but it was mainly: "psss, break up with her! I mean, I would hate for the issue to get worse, while you can move on—"
... Yeah, so you were pretty damn sure Worker C didn't really care about their relationship, but you didn't expect her to anyway. She couldn't seem too aloof about it, but she had on a small smile, like she was being understanding... it must've worked since Worker B replied with: "...I think I might want to wait a little longer before that, though. in any other case.. yeah, I guess you're right. Maybe we could.. talk things out, at the very least-"
Worker C interuptted with a groan. "Talk things out-? Yeah, yeah. Communication, and.. whatever." She scoffed, talk about wearing your heart on your sleeve...
— "We're celebrating a birthday, June... is it really a good time for this-?" Sun asked sheepishly. It was a bit difficult for him to sit basically right next to her when she pressed him like this. "People talk during parties!" June quickly shot back. She didn't say it, but her tone read: 'ya idiot.' "-its only a question! Why are you so hesitant unless the answer is embarrassing?"
"No!" Sun seemed almost panicked to answer. He didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea, even if they were kids, if a worker overheard something that sounded bad... he'd be screwed and very, very embarrassed. Not that he wanted to talk to some little kid about this anyway, but it's not like June was going to shut up. "Then why?" She repeated with a slight pout, "is it because Mr. Moon and Mx.Y/n like each other, but Mx. Y/n doesn't like you?"
