◇ABOA || ARC 02◇

-Chapter 21-

You almost slammed the door behind you once you made it into the main daycare, Sun, who was cleaning up at the moment, instantly noticed your scrunched up expression, your hands tightly enveloped into a fist.
He watched you for a moment, his smile slowly flipping into a frown as he hesitantly approached you, "Y/n?" He got your attention, not even you knew what your expression read at the moment. "-Are you okay?"

You nodded slowly, swallowing down any nausea that threatened to hurl right back out of your stomach, then you explained what happened. Word by word, action to get there, what you saw. Sun listened calmly, his expression surprisingly blank, but you hardly noticed, after all, you had a lot to say. This was the first time you saw a dead body. And even if it wasn't, that didn't change the disgust in your eyes.
Once you finished, Sun ushered to a different part of the daycare, asking if you wanted water or needed to sit down.
"Y/n. . . I hope you realize where you are I- I'm sure you would've seen.. things, eventually." Sun said softly, leading you to sit, as he sat in front of you, gently holding your hands together. Sun's smile was supposedly reassuring, but you couldn't help but notice the slight restraint in his mannerisms, as if he was trying to hide the fact that this situation was pissing him off.

"Sun-" You started, your expression scrunching together. "Don't you realize how that sounds? She looked mangled, or like she's been there for a while- why hasn't anyone cleaned her up? There's no way I was the only person who saw that! It smelled like pure rot! Plus there were bugs everywhere, isn't there security in this place?"

Sun paused at that, wincing slightly, before shaking his head, "You sound..." he started, before changing the sentence. "You're not going to leave because of that, right? Take a break or anything?"

You went quiet, staring at him incredulously as you processed his question. It'd be stupid to leave again, wouldn't it? Right after you came crawling back? How would that look for other employers? You didn't want to be seen as unreliable. Plus, there was a doubt anything would happen to you... right? You grimaced at that. It was one girl out of the entire plex, yet the only other person who worked directly with the animatronics. Maybe it was just a coincidence? After all, Guy disappeared too. whether it be from the Plex or not. Xavier just worked in inventory, nothing special. Would the company give you a week break if you said what you saw? Or would they give you a pat on the back and a free FizzyFaz for reporting it? You should report it... right? Or would that put a target on your back for whoever killed her?

Sun's gaze stayed on your shifting expressions, frankly, he didn't care what you were thinking, it was enough that it was taking you so long to respond. Clearly, there was hesitation if you didn't answer right away. "Hmm... that's a.. shame." Sun said slowly, breaking the silence, and you glanced up at him, torn from your thoughts.

Sun frowned, his hands tightening around your wrists as he brought them up in front of his chest, his tone turning into almost a desperate whine. "I didn't want you to find it! I didn't! She was just a fighter and it took Moon too long so I didn't have time to clean her up! That's all.. that's all, you forgive us, right? Right?"

You went dead silent, your gaze slowly moving down to where he held your hands, you opened your mouth once.. or twice, before you finally found your words. "..Sun." You said, trying to keep your voice stern but- it was too shaky to be considered that. "-Let go of me."

Sun stared at you, his grip tightening as you tried pulling your wrists back, to the point where if it was Moon, you'd be able to feel his claws in your skin.
"I didn't mean for you to find it." He repeated, his voice dripping a few octaves that made you cringe, you weren't used to him speaking like that. "Stay the night?" He asked, his expression suddenly switching back into an innocent smile. "-We can make it all better. We could make you feel better.. comfort you. We couldn't let you just leave like this! Stay.. stay a little longer." Sun tried convincing you, but you shook your head, you thought you knew Sun for a while, but this was freaking you out. Especially not that he won't even let, you, go.

"I can't- Sun, I have to get home. I have to-" "Leave?" Sun interrupted, tilting his head, he shifted to hold both of your wrists in one hand, while he brought up his other, grazing his fingers gently down your jawline. "-I'm sorry sunbeam.. I can't let you do that- I don't think you'll be coming back."
"What?" You tried putting on a reassuring smile, as you stopped pulling your hands back. "Of course I'll come back! I just got back.. and it was just Aria, I'll be fine!" You suddenly switched up, completely lying through your teeth, but he wouldn't have believed you no matter what you said. Regardless, he narrowed his eyes a bit and slowly let go of you, sitting back, and standing up as you rushed and almost stumbled to stand. "Of... course." He drawled out, saying absolutely nothing, but you heard the whirring start up in his systems, and you took it as your time to go.

You probably weren't going to stay. Maybe you'll think about it when you get home but- you needed to make some re-evaluations after that interaction with Sun. If he killed- if Moon killed Aria, did that to Aria, you could slightly let it slide because it's Moon, but the fact Sun was in on it? How he wanted you to stay, how you could still feel the slight pressure of his fingers digging into your skin? You weren't planning on leaving until you found out what had happened.

But as you turned and slipped on your bag, quickly trying to get the door with a bit of a pep in your step, Sun's fingers flexed at his sides. Was he actually going to let you go? No. Not after you lied to his face, not after he saw your expression before you turned on your heels and walked away.
He'd make it quick though, he wouldn't want to put his little bird in any pain right away.

And before you knew it, the back of your head was throbbing from a blunt force, your face almost collided with the ground, but you managed to catch yourself on shaky elbows, a pained moan left you as you brought up your hand to your head, and felt Sun's hand latch onto your shoulder, flipping you onto your back he covered your mouth with his other hand, his hand was big enough to cover both your mouth and nose.
You pawed at his hand, trying to tug it off of you as your throat closed, your lungs burning to get air. Your vision was blacking out, and yet all you saw above you was a sickingly sweet grin as Sun leaned down towards you, your moments getting weaker. "Shh... shh.. it'll be okay, I've got you.." Sun cooed, though he wouldn't let you suffocate. You hardly had the consciousness to see him reach into his pocket as he permitted you to breathe. "Just stay still for me, Sunshine. Okay?"
Your mind and vision went blank soon after.

Sun picked you up gently, swirling you in a small circle as he let out an awe-filled laugh. "Moon! Look at them! So pretty..." He mumbled, dipping his head down to rest his face plate on the side of your face. "-and so fragile too.. good thing you found that case. I wouldn't have expected such a little needle to knock them out so quick." He gushed, the wire attaching to his back as he went up to the balcony.

"Just hurry up and find somewhere to put them." Moon snapped from inside their head, "-this wasn't supposed to happen so soon.. we have work to be finished, Sun."

(This is like practice for me to start on my next story cause the next one is going to be one HELL of a dead dove. This story is sweet compared to what I plan that one to be.)
