The Grey Reality

My past

I woke up looking at the ceiling and I heard sobbing coming from somewhere so I lifted my head up and saw Meredith sitting in the corner.
"Meredith what happened" I asked
"Derek you...eh.....you collapsed we did some tests and I turns out you had a slight tear in your heart so they went in and fixed it how do you feel" she replied
"Meredith I need to tell you something.....two months ago the hospital I worked at was shot up by a man who's wife was taken of life support he was aiming for the chief when I blocked him and the bullet went up through my shoulder clipping my heart and I get all dizzy if I work too hard so that's probably what triggered it along with lifting those boxes this morning"
"How did I not realise the scar where is it" she said moving next to me and I lifted up my arm pointing to it
"Oh Derek why didn't you tell me before" she said putting her hand on my head
"I was just....I don't like reminiscing the moment" I replied as Cristina walked in
"So Derek you will be discharged tomorrow if you don't have any problems tonight and you can go to your office just as long as you have Meredith with you and your in the chair ok"
"Ok" I said as I watched her walk out
"So here's your hoodie and your pants put them on and we'll go review the new interns" she said passing me my clothes
"I love you" I said bringing her face to mine
"I love you too" she said kissing me
