After the pain hits

3 weeks later
"Hey Spencer how are you feeling" I asked
"Meredith I'm not gonna lie I'm not to great I can just feel me and Derek pulling apart to being just be friends again and I'm sort of ok with it you know being friends again because having that miscarriage has put a strain on our relationship and we've acting more like best friends that boyfriend and girlfriend" she said
"People get through this its just a bump in the road" I said trying to hide my love for him
"Meredith you don't need to hide your feelings for him he told me all about you when I was back in New York and I can tell by your face that you still love him and I can tell that he loves you too" she said pulling out her phone
"What are you doing" I asked
"I'm telling Derek to meet you at the park for lunch in an hour because it gives me time to tell him" she said texting Derek
"Thank you Spencer and I'm so sorry"
"It's ok I love Derek but not as much as you do so go get him" she said holding my shoulder
Derek's POV
"Hey spence what's up" I asked as she walked into my office
"Derek I'm gonna keep this short Meredith loves you and we've grown away from brig in a relationship back to being like we were in high school and Derek I do love you but not as much as she does and I know we are still shaken up after the miscarriage but Derek you can't lose her" she said sitting down
"Spence I do love her but I need to know are you ok about it"
"Yes Derek in fine with it we've been friends for a long time best friends but I just don't think we can be together anymore but don't get me wrong this past year and a bit has been brilliant Meredith is really lucky but I think it's time so go get her"
"Thank you Spencer" I said hugging her
"She'll meet you in the park in 45 minutes" she said as I picked up my jacket and we walked out together.
