I visited James in the hospital with Lauren and Xander.

I sat down on the chair outside of his room and let Xander and Lauren go first because I wanted to see him last.

When they came out, I stood up. "I'm gonna go to the vending machine," Lauren says.

Xander sat down. "How is he?" I asked him.

"Go see for yourself.."

I went in and I saw James in a gown, lying in the hospital bed. He smiled as he saw me walking in. I sat on the chair that was beside his hospital bed.

James looked very weak and his eyes were slightly open. "How are you doing?" I asked.

"Great! A car hit me and I broke my right leg." He smiled and said with a raspy voice.

"Why did you do it?" I asked.

"Do what?"

"Why'd you run away from us and jump in the middle of a street?!

"I don't know I just did."

What does that even mean...

"I didn't want to talk to you guys or even you. I don't even want to see you right now.."

"Huh?" I was confused.

"I hit you, Jewel. I hit you.." He turned his head away from me.

"You hit me by accident."

"Whatever! I still hit you.." He suddenly sat up.

"Ow ow ow..." I helped him lie back down.

"You hit me and that's a reason to go insane and run in a street of cars?"

He turned his body in a position that faced the other direction.

I sighed. I grabbed a cup from the table and filled it with water.

"Here."

He looked over his shoulder and took the cup. "Thanks."

"Do you want me to fix your pillow?"

He hesitated. "Sure I guess..."

I helped him sit up and he winced. I fixed his pillow and put it back. He lied back down.

"Feels better." He grinned.

I smiled.

I turned my head and I see Xander peering through the window on the door.

"Come here," he mouthed.

I turned back to James. "I'll be right back."

I walked to Xander and closed the door.

"What are you doing in there?" His eyebrows furrowed.

"What are you so mad about?"

"I'm not mad! It's just.. I thought you guys were gonna talk. But then I see you serving him water and fluffing his pillow?"

I chuckled.

Xander's eye widened. "What? What's so funny?"

"Heh... You jealous?"

"N-no! I'm not!" He stuttered. "Just stop doing stuff like this."

I smiled at his reaction.

I went back in the room.

I knew Xander had his eyes on me throught the little window on the door.

"Would you like me to do anything else?"
