chapter 2

I walk to my car not in preperation of what I should expect at Mrs. Statter's house.

But I am also still shocked about Sammy and Tatiana. She didn't even mention anthing at lunch. Why didn't she?

I get in my car and follow the directions on my phone to Mrs. Statter's.

When I arrive the house is huge. At least three or four stories high. Its a light blue color with white trim. It has a traditional pointed roof and there is a nice little garden in front.

I get out of my car and walk up to the door.

I knock and Mrs. Statter opens it very quickly.

"Oh hello deary please come in." She motions me in. I walk in and she smiles.

"So you are here about the job I announced earlier?" She asks.

"Yes." I reply. "Now, can you tell me what the job is?"

I follow her into a living room and sit down on the couch.

"I would like you to meet someone." She says.

"James!!" She yells. Which actually quiet startled me seeing as how she was sitting right next to me and also I am not accustomed to my teacher yelling so loud like that.

A couple of seconds later I hear footsteps coming down the stairs by the front door. I turn around and see a little boy. He is tan with brown hair.

"James, this is.." She trails off and looks at me.

"Julie." I reply.

"Julie!" She says after me.

"Hi Julie." He says quietly.

"Hi James." I reply smiling. He is so cute.

"I want you to babysit him." She says.

"Babysit?" I reply perking up and looking at her.

"You see, the babysitter I had for them before just moved to Michigan for family readons. Since I am teaching, I am never home to take care of them."

"Them?" I ask.

"Oh yes." She says. "Daniel!" She screams once again.

"What?!" A voice says upstairs.

"Come down here!"

I look at James and he smiles.

"What grandma." A voice groans. I look over at the stairs and see a boy, a bit older than James.

He also is tan but not as tan as James, he has little lighter hair though.

"Daniel this is Julie." She says. "She is your new baby sitter."

"Uhh." I say. I didn't exactly say yes yet..

"Oh hello." Says Daniel sitting next to me. A little flirt.

"Hi." I say.

"My name is Danile Gilinsky." He says. "And I am single." He wiggles his eyebrows.

"Yeah..." I reply, a little creeped out.

"So Julie will you take the job?" Mrs. Statter asks me.

Extra money. Extra money. Extra money.

"Yes." I reply.

"Great!" She sighs with relief.

"Okay, James is six and Daniel is fourteen." She says.

"Is this all of them?" I ask reassuringly.

"There is one more but he is older, he isn't around very much." She says.

"Daniel is he here?" She asks him.

"Yes." He says. "Want me to get him?"

"Yes please." She says.

He runs upstairs.

"You don't even know if he is home?" I ask.

"I just got home sweetheart. Ten minutes ago." She smiles.

I look over at James and he is still standing there in front of us. He must not talk much.

"He said he will be down in a minute." Daniel says.

"Okay, well I better be going, I have some homework to do." I say standing up.

"Ok deary, thank you." She says smiling.

"When would you like me to start?" I ask. "And what time?"

"How about day after tomorrow?" She asks. "And 11 am."

"Yes actually that would be great, I don't have school then." I say.

"Great! I will see you then." She says. I open the door but I turn around when I hear someone coming down the stairs.

"Oh this is Jack." Mrs. Statter says.

I couldn't help but stare.

"Hi my name is Jack." He holds out his hand.

"Julie." I reply. I shake his hand. He is tan, just like his brothers, and has dark hair. A very defined jawline. His handshake was very firm but it felt safe.

What am I saying?

"Okay bye Mrs. Statter I've got to get going." I say quickly.

"Okay sweetie bye!" She says.

"Bye guys!" I say waving to Daniel and James.

"Bye!" Says Daniel. James just waves.

"Uhh bye Jack." I say.

"Bye Julie."

I walk out of the house and the door closes behind me. I walk to my car and when I get inside I sigh deeply.

"Oh boy." I mumble to myself.
