Miya.

"I still don't get it." Chris groaned as he threw the pencil. I put my phone down and stood next to him. Looking down on his paper, "I always get stuck at this part. I hate math!" He huffed. "All we need to know how to do is add and subtract for real for real..."

I laughed and he grew more frustrated.

"Chris just continue this..."

"Like... They not about to ask me what's x plus z multiplied by y, if I wanted to get a car or do my taxes. Teaching us this unnecessary bull." Chris pushed the paper away from himself as he put his head down.

"Okay. Let's take a break from math. English homework?" I suggested as I sat down two seats away from him.

"Yes please that's way more easier." He said with a sigh. I smiled and leaned my head on my fist.

For English homework we had to read and answer questions that followed. I kept feeling Chris' eyes on me. Each time I looked up to stare, he looked away. I could tell he knew I was staring, because he had a dumb smile on his face.

"You know we have a test coming up right?" I inquired, taking a pause from answering the questions.

"You're going to help me study... I mean don't you have to... You're my tutor; that makes you my study buddy by default... Right?" He asked with a grin.

"Uh-huh." I simply replied returning the same dumb grin. We locked eyes. I started to feel warm as he licked his lips.

"You- "

"Staring contest?" My dad spoke as he walked into the kitchen. Chris and I, immediately shifted our eyes away from each other. I looked down at my paper and snickered softly.

"Chris." My dad nodded his head, greeting him.

"How are you doing Mr.Jackson?" Chris' smile faded while my dad's face clearly read: ain't no smiling here. He then cleared his throat looking away from my dad's gaze.

"Something's not right..." My dad sung out. I refused to look in his direction. "Well I'll leave, but I'll be back... Bye children." My dad said as he hit Chris' back 'playfully' When my dad left Chris groaned in pain.

"Man... What's his issue?" Chris whined.

"Boys in general." I stated.

"Well, well. What would he do if he found out his babygirl was all up on me last Saturday?" He whispered. He knew better not to say that aloud, my dad had ears like a hawk.

"Oh my gosh! Shut up." I said blushing. A smirk played on his lip, he got up and sat right next to me, bringing his books with him.

"So..." He trailed off.

"So...?"

"I have a question." Chris spoke, he played with the pencil in his hand . "Me and you? Are we... Y'know..."

I looked at him dumbfounded. I honestly didn't know. We kissed, does this mean we have to be together right away? Well... I didn't want another girl kissing on him after I just did. I pursed my lips, I didn't know what to say. Chris looked at me anxiously. What to say? What to say?!? I gave him a nervous laugh.
