"Calum we've been dancing for 3 hours now. Let's go sit down." I say laughing and pulling him to a table. My feet are throbbing, and my forehead is beaded with sweat.
"Awe it was so much fun though." He says laughing, and making a puppy dog face.
"I know but my feet are killing me." I say laughing.
"You look beautiful tonight Rena. I know you'd rather be at the prom with someone else tonight, but I hope I'm making it a little better." Calum says smiling.
"Thank you Calum. This all means so much. And I wouldn't want anyone else to be my prom date. You've helped me have an amazing night tonight. I've laughed harder than I have in years. So thank you so much Hood." I say smiling back to him. His face lights up and he smiles so hard I can't see his eyes anymore.
"Will Luke, Calum, Michael, and Ashton please make their way to the stage? It's ready for the show." The principal says from the stage.
"What?" I ask looking at Calum confused.
"Surprise babe." Calum says winking and walking towards the stage.
"Hi guys. We're 5 seconds of summer." Michael says and everything clicks together. How could I have not known that they were 5 seconds of summer?! The radio plays their songs all the time. I just never looked them up. It's crazy to think I go to school rock stars, and dated a member of the band.
"This song goes out to my lovely date tonight. Rena, I hope you have an amazing time tonight. Going with one of my best friends is way better than going with just some girl. So thank you for saying yes to my crappy promposal." Calum says smiling, and everyone in the crowd awes.
"Let's just start the song." Luke grumbles in the microphone. And with that the band starts.

Once the song ends everyone, including me, jumps up and cheers.
"Thank you everyone! Goodnight!" Ashton says from behind the drums.
After everyone gets off stage I see Calum coming back towards me. I run up to him and hug him.
"That was amazing! You guys are awesome!" I say as I hug him. "And that song must have took you forever to write it!"
"Aw thanks Rena. That means a lot. But I didn't write the song." He says and I pull away from the hug.
"Who did?" I ask. I had this feeling that song was about me, and I was hoping it would be Calum, because I know it would be as a joke. He always jokes around saying that he loves me and all of that.
"Luke." He says and my heart drops.
"Oh it's probably about Rebecca then." I say pushing my pain away and smiling.
"Yeah probably. I don't know what he sees in her. I mean yeah she's hot and popular. But that's about it. She's not funny, smart, kind, and she doesn't know how to keep her legs closed." Calum says and I nod.
"Yeah. Yet there's something about her that makes her 1,000 times better than me." I say looking down at the cream colored table cloth.
"What makes you say that?" Calum asks.
"Luke loves her. And not me." I say and a tear slips out.
"Hey look at me," He says lifting my head up with his finger "Luke is a dumbass for not loving you. He's too dumb to even see what's right in front of him. But that shouldn't make you think poorly about yourself. Rena all of the girls in this room want to be just like you. Don't let anyone tell you differently about yourself. Okay?" Calum asks.
"Okay." I say smiling and hugging him.
"Calum can I dance with you?" A girl asks as she comes up to our table. Calum looks at me for approval, and I nod.
"I'll be back don't worry." Calum mouths to me as he's leaving. I just smile and wave him off. I want him to have a good time tonight, so of course I'll let him dance with somebody else.
"Attention everyone! The crowning for Prom King and Queen is about to start!"
