Carolina's POV
She was right. What was I doing? I looked around the table at my smiling friends. We all really needed this; an escape from reality. I hang up the phone, her words still ringing in my ears.
"if your life has to go on, so does mine!"
What did she mean? I mean everyone was here, Zayn, Harry, Louis, Liam, Nia-. Wait where was Niall? He was sitting right next to Harry two seconds ago.. NO
"She didnt!" I said under my breath
I stood up from my chair and walked over to Harry.
"Where is he?"
"Niall?"
I nod.
"Erm. He took a call and said he had to go"
"No" I whispered
Nick noticed me begin to panic and excused himself from the table as well as he followed me into the kitchen of Joe's house.
"What's up?"
"She left..."
"Who left?" he asks grabbing my hand
"Genesis"
"But she's not here.. she's with Joe at the hospital remember?" he says stroking my cheek
"I know. No I mean she left with Niall"
"Niall? Wasn't he just here?"
"He left like a few second ago"
Nick eyes started to move around getting dark; not meeting mine.
"She wouldn't" Nick whispers gripping my hand tightly
"She would" I gasp
"Joe doesn't deserve that" his hand only squeezing mine more
"Shh" I breathe "Nick y-y-ou're hurting me"
Nick's face changes as he looks down at me. Before releasing my hand he kisses my palm.
"Sorry baby"
"It's okay" I whisper
He grips my chin in between his fingers and our noses touch as he hesitates to give me a quick kiss.
"Let me fix this" he smiles
I watch him grab his phone from his pocket, unlocking and pressing it to his ear swiftly.
"Hey mom" he sighed "is Genesis there?"
There was silence for a moment from Nick, all he could do was listen as him mom kept talking from the other end of the line.
"Okay, don't worry mom I'll locate her."
He hung up right away, running his hand through his hair.
"What happened?" Is she there?" I ask
"You were right.. my mom said she just got there and Genesis was no where to be found"
"She's always at Joe's side"
"I know, that's why my mom asked one of the nurses if she had seen her and after asking around they told her that Gen left like ten minutes ago and that she was in a hurry."
"Oh my god" I gasp "she can't do this"
I grab my phone thinking I should call Genesis but I knew her; she wouldn't answer. So I move away from Nick and practically run back to the dining room.
"Liam" I yelled desperately
Everyone looks up at me alarmed.
"Yes?" Liam asks standing from the table
