Kagome awoke early the next morning, around the same time Inuyasha always got her up. She sighed and rubbed the back of her head before pulling herself from the comforts of the bed. She opened her bedroom door and peeked out into the hallway. It was still dark and no one seemed to be awake yet so Kagome quietly slipped down the stairs.

"Huh? The kitchen light is on..." Kagome cautiously made her way to the kitchen. There stood Itachi Uchiha with a glass of milk. He froze when he spotted her.

They just stared at one another. Kagome with an eyebrow raised and arms crossed. Itachi with an empty glass and gallon of milk.

"You're... Up early," he finally spoke.

"And so are you," Kagome felt the corners of her mouth tug into a smile.

"Do you want some... Milk I mean?" he asked, motioning towards the gallon in his hand.

Kagome giggled. "Sure."

Itachi poured her a glass of milk as she sat down. He set the cup in front of her and took a seat across from her. They drank their milk in silence.

"Kagome?"

"Hmm?"

"Would you like to run into town with me?" Itachi set his empty glass down on the table and smiled brightly at her.

"Into town? This early in the morning? What for?" Kagome questioned.

"Ah. Well the Dango Shop is always open this early and I wanted to grab some before I had to report to the ANBU. Besides, you also have to meet with Kakashi Hatake for training. I'm interested in seeing how that turns out," he folded his hands in front of him and put his head on them.

"Well, sure I'd like to go into town. But why would it'd be interesting to see me fight this Kakashi person?"

"Well, I've seen what you can do with those arrows of yours and Kakashi Hatake is rather famous around here. He's known as the copy cat ninja who's copied over 1000 jutsus," he explained.

"Oh! Really! That's amazing!" Kagome said. "You know that guy at the weapon shop?"

Itachi nodded.

"Well," she let out a rather dark chuckle, "Before we left I asked him if he could custom make a quiver of arrows for me."

"What did he say?"

"He said, Yes. Probably out of fear," Kagome shrugged. She stood and rinsed her and Itachi's cups out.

When she turned back around Itachi leant across the table writing something down on a scrap of paper. He scanned over it before laying it down.

"Let's go," he said.

Kagome nodded and they put their shoes on and quietly made their way through the Uchiha compound.

As they walked together in silence, Kagome couldn't help but sneak a glance at him. Kagome couldn't help but how thought handsome he was. "It should be illegal to look as good as he does! I mean he's almost as good looking as Sesshomaru! Yes Sesshomaru has that looks of a God, Itachi comes close! He beats Inuyasha by a lot!"

Kagome froze when she felt an unfamiliar presence. She knew Itachi felt it too cause he had also stopped. Kagome stepped beside him and noticed his eyes had changed from the usual onyx color to red with black markings on them.

"Kagome..." a voice spoke from nowhere. Kagome looked around, a little scared.

"W-who's there?" she asked.

"Kagome..." it said again, only a little louder. The area around them glowed a light pink. Kagome gasped.

"Kagome? Are you okay?" Itachi asked, still on guard.
