When the sunlight streamed in through the open curtains, Draco couldn't help but feel like he was missing something important. He pulled the cover off his body and sat up in bed. Turning towards the bathroom he slowly stood up and shut the door behind him. In the mirror he looked the same; eyes of grey and striking platinum blonde hair, but inside he couldn't feel more dead. Draco couldn't look any longer. Slamming the door behind him, he slipped on a pair of black jeans and a white t shirt. However, when he left, he bumped into who he had been dreading seeing.

"Hermione...?" he whispered tentatively.

Her eyes were bloodshot. She'd been crying. Her hair was no longer silky as it had been yesterday; instead it was a matted mess. Her skin sunk into her jawline, making her look how Draco felt. Dead.

"I'm so sor-" It came out as a whisper, barely heard, but she interrupted anyway.

"Just save it."

" I was drunk"

"Don't make excuses." she snapped at him.

"Don't tell me what to do" he snapped back. Hermione sighed.

"Draco you can't rule everybody. I just asked one small thing of you and you can't even perform it." She let a small smile lift her cheeks.
"That is a sign of stupidity."

"What do you mean stupidity?" He demanded, lifting his arms dangerously close to her face.

"Well it's when someone isn't very clever-"

"Just shut up!" This time it was his turn to interrupt.  She giggled a bit before her smile became a frown.

"Don't you see!" she whispered to him.

"What?"

"Idiot..." She began to walk away with that, but he grabbed her arm, forcing her to turn around.

"Tell me!" She felt the shivers go down her back when he said that. He was really rather attractive when he was angry.

"You say you're trying to make this work but you're really not." The tears began.
"You shout at me and make me feel worthless. If you think that's a healthy relationship then you're wrong!"

He began to breathe hysterically. His father had done that. Screamed and shouted at his mother until she had obliged without another word. He could remember being so scared then and vowing to himself that he would never become like that. But without knowing it, he'd looked up to his father. He was the only male role model in the house, so he couldn't help but adore him. Even if he did beat his mother.
But then again he had. He'd gone against every promise he'd ever made to himself.

"Granger you know-"

"Please don't bother me for the rest of the day. I'm done talking to you."

For Draco the day went slowly. It wasn't anything he hadn't done before; sitting around and doing nothing was his favourite hobby, but Hermione had locked herself in her room. He was alone.
