"Alright shanks!" Minho yelled. "Truth or dare by the fire."

Everyone either grumbled with disappointment or whooped with excitement. You smiled a little but you knew that Minhos games were often either dangerous or inappropriate. This was his favorite because it was both.

You sat in the large circle of Glders who were still adjusting into a sitting position. You crossed your legs and waited. Chuck and Newt sat next to you and you grinned at them. Newt wasn't as optimistic as you were and lately he began dreading Minhos games.

Minho plopped himself down and sighed merrily. "Okay, uh Frypan! You first."

"Great," frypan sighed and rolled his eyes. "Interrogation or embarrassment. Love this game."

Minho ignored him and took a deep breath. "Truth or da-"

"Truth," he answered before Minho could finish. "Ain't no one going pant-less for a week again." He shot a look at Winston who shrugged. You cringed and shuddered at the memory.

"Do you purposely make the food inedible?"

"Hey low blow!" Frypan complained. Everyone knew he was trying his hardest to feed the entire Glade but it was still fun to tease him. "No, I try to make the food good, okay?"

Then it was Frypans turn to pick someone. His eyes flickered to you but he moved on luckily.

"Newt, truth or dare."

Newt groaned and rolled his eyes. "Truth."

"Hmm. If you could pick a different job, what would you pick?"

Newt pursed his lips and shrugged as if it was an obvious answer. "Well, a Runner. But I can't do that anymore with my bloody leg."

There was a moment of awkward silence as everyone remembered why his leg was the way it was and how he used to be a Runner.

Newts turn. "Uh...Tommy. Truth or dare?"

Your heart thrummed against your chest and your throat closed up. You tried not to notice him. You really did. But there was no way to ignore someone who your heart saw instead of your eyes. You loved him and there was no denying it.

Thomas gave his adorable smile and pulled his leg to his chest. "Dare, of course."

Newt grinned evilly and paused. "I dare you to kiss Y/N."

Thomas's mouth hung open and your eyes went wide. You turned to Newt.

"What are you doing?" You hissed through your teeth.

Newt ignored you and waited. He knew of your obvious crush for Thomas. But Thomas didn't feel the same way! This was insane!

"N-Newt I don't think that's a good idea..." Thomas chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. The rest of the boys, all knowing your crush, relaxed and waited for something to happen.

Your heart broke at his words. He wouldn't look you in the eye and you were begging for Newt to dare him with something else, no matter how badly you wanted to kiss him.

A Glader chuckled and talked loud enough for everyone, including you and Thomas, to hear. "Well shuck! Looks like Y/N just got her heart broke by her Prince Charming."

Your face went hot and you looked to your feet. When you looked back up you forced a smile, turned to Newt, and mumbled, "I don't really want to play anymore."

You got to your feet and brushed the dirt off your pants. You started to walk away and the boys behind you were taunting you. "Aww don't leave Y/N! "

"Don't be a bad sport!"

"Aw are you gonna go cry now?"

You held back your anger and embarrassment at them and walked to the Homestead quickly. It wasn't long before the game picked back up and the new Greenie filled your spot.

You were sitting on your bed, staring at your feet and listening to the echoing cheers and yells of the Gladers. You knew Thomas didn't like you like that, but was it honestly necessary for you to find out that way?

You heard footsteps making their way cautiously towards your room and you rolled your eyes. "Go away, Newt."

The footsteps ceased at your doorway and your cracked open door swung open further. Thomas was standing there with a nervous look on his face.

You stood up abruptly. "T-Thomas! Sorry, I thought you were Newt."

He nodded. "I heard." He took a step inside and fiddled with his t-shirt hem. "I-I'm sorry about how things went out there. I didn't mean to embarrass you or...hurt you."

You shook your head and ran a hand through your hair. "It's fine. Don't worry about it."

"No really, they embarrassed you and that wasn't okay." There was a pause before he spoke again. "What were they saying about me being your Prince Charming?"

You sighed. Here goes nothing. "They found out I had feelings for you and just love to tease me about it."

Thomas narrowed his eyes and cocked his head to the side with a small smile. "You had feelings for me?"

Your heart fluttered. "Well, I mean, I still do."

"So you wouldn't mind if I kissed you right now?"

You became angry and furrowed your eyebrows. "Yeah. Yeah I would mind. You're not using my feelings for you to complete your stupid dare. I'm not an object, Thomas."

Thomas's eyes went wide and he shook his head quickly.

"No! That's not what I meant. Ah-listen. I was trying to tell you that I had feelings for you too." Thomas bit his lip and you cursed his good looks.

"Then why did you look so mortified when you were dared to kiss me?" You folded your arms and stared with a hard expression.

"Because I thought you didn't like me!"

You froze, stunned. Wait, what?

"I didn't want to kiss you and make you feel like you were just part of a dare or make you feel embarrassed. I knew that if I was going to kiss you then I wanted it to mean something." You stared into Thomas's eyes and searched to see if he was telling the truth. You couldn't find his normal shifty gaze and offset mouth that he had when he lied. He was telling the truth.

You rolled your eyes and you couldn't help but smile a little. "Then kiss me already, shuck face."

You tugged the collar of his shirt down until your lips touched. The kiss was soft and Thomas treated you as gently as he would a butterfly.

Once you both pulled away, you looked into his soft gaze that was filled with warmth.

He opened his mouth like he was going to say something but hesitated.

"What is it?" You breathe.

He bites his lip. "I wasn't telling you the whole truth."

You stopped moving and froze. If he said he used you for the dare even after everything else he'd said, you swore you'd bite him.

"I think I love you."

"That makes two of us," you laugh quietly and press your lips to his again.
