➳read some books
try reading some books for some inspiration, or writing techniques. try different genres so you can write down interesting words which will look impressive in a book.➳study grammar and spelling
not the best speller? grab a dictionary and look at some random words, and their definition for inspiration. it might not sound fun, but to become a good author, you've gotta know the difference between "your" and "you're." autocorrect won't always save you.➳write a rough draft
write each chapter as a rough draft and have yourself peruse through it for any mistakes, spelling errors, or facts you need to check. you can switch out words for more interesting ones, and make the story sound more descriptive.➳write descriptively
you want your readers to actually understand what you're portraying, every chapter of the book should flow, without misunderstanding. find a balance between descriptive and plain.➳research
the setting can be super duper important for your story. if you're basing it off of a town, be accurate, and descriptive, creating a map in the readers' head.➳create good characters
characters make up the book. base them on people you know, or make up one unique character. create characters that are different. base it off of what's happening in today's world; make a message. add some characters with influential backstories, or different sexualities and races. (Guide to sexualities coming up in later chapters)★☆★☆★☆★
