CHAPTER 39: PAPERS and CHANCES

***********

CHANTAL's POV

"Are you sure about this?" grand-pere asked me for the nth time. "Remember princess, if you do this there's no turning back. Once you told him about your decision you will..."

"Grand-pere, I'm sure about this. No need to worry okay. I have think of it this past three days, okay." I said as I walk towards him and hug him.

"You're really a grown up woman. I can't even change your decision like I used to do before." He said as he patted my head. "hey!" I said in protest but he just chuckled and kiss my head.

"Mind to join me" a voice cracked our little moment. "Come here son and help me change your little sister's mind."

Ethan just creased his brows then looked at me. "Why, is there any crazy thing she wanna do?"

"The annulment papers just arrived and I'm signing it." I said which earn a loud ohh from my beloved brother.

"Are you serious about it love, no kidding?" I just rolled my eyes heavenward. The last time I checked, he is the one very eager about me getting annulled to Brin. But now, it's the other way around.

"Yeah, I'm sure about it." I answered. "Ohh... no second chance?" he asked.

"I...I don't know" I said truthfully.

"Tss... then that says it all. You're not sure about the annulment." He stated as a matter of fact.

"I am." I countered.

"No. you're not" he countered back.

"I am" I shouted at him

"Iou're not" he shouted back

"I am"

"You're not"

"I am"

"You're not"

"I am"

"You're not"

"I am"

"You're not"

We keep on shouting at each other until we heard grand-pere's amused voice.

"Okay children, enough" grand-pere said trying to stop us from arguing..

"I'M NOT A CHILD ANYMORE" we said in unison as we glared at him.

He just chuckled "Yeah right. That's why you keep on shouting at each other like you both do when you were still a kid." Then he burst out laughing.

We both burned out cheeks like tomato when we realize he's right.

"Grand-pere!!!" we both shouted again.

"But seriously princess, can't we change your mind?" grand-pere opened the topic again. "Yeah love, how about Linden. Can he take it? What if he remembered everything. How will you explain it to him?" Ethan said hitting a point.

"I don't know, love. I'll just cross the bridge when I get there. And just like what you said, it's just a 'what if he remember'. There's no guarantee that he will remember him. They are not close. They don't have good memories together. I doubt if he will remember him."
