Hold Me or Kill Me

"So what's the plan?" Damon asked raising his eyebrow up at Stefan who leant on Tyler's father's desk as Damon slouched in the couch beside him.

"Julian needs to die. Today." Stefan replied, non-negotiating and I tilted my head at him. "Everything has to appear to be normal. Julian's not an idiot—If he finds out that Lily turned on him, we're all dead." Stefan warned and I nodded in agreement as I leant on the wall across from him.

"So you embed her with a psychopath." Enzo stated in an annoyed voice. "Sounds logical." He added sarcastically, eyeing Damon who sat across from him.

"Hey, don't look at me. I voted to drive a stake through her heart and get rid of all this Julian mama-drama once and for all, but, hey—Complicated plan 'A' sounds like a happy compromise." Damon pointed out and I rolled my eyes at him.

"It's not complicated. We get Julian's blood and then Nora, Beau or Mary-Louise use it to unlink him from Lily and then we kill the bastard." Stefan stated shrugging at his brother as I sighed.

"But you glossed over the important parts. Do we really think that Beau, Mary-Louise or Nora will actually help us kill him?" I asked raising my eyebrow at Stefan who turned towards me. "Julian treats the heretics like they're his royal children and they worship him. They'll never turn on him." I said doubtedly, shaking my head as Enzo nodded in agreement.

"The old stake through the hearts looking like a pretty good alternative right about now." Damon countered smirking and I narrowed my eyes at him. "Just sayin'." He replied sighing back at me.

"Well, I guess the only way we're gonna be able to pull this off is to deploy the nuclear option." Stefan added in defeat and we all rose our eyebrows at him.

"Which is?" Enzo asked raising his eyebrow at Stefan confused.

"Me." A voice stated coming into the room and we all turned towards Valerie. "I know how to win them over to our side." She reassured and I rose my eyebrow.

"Great. Last I checked she was the black sheep of the family—what are you gonna tell them to make them feel otherwise?" Enzo scoffed in disbelief. I narrowed my eyes at him in annoyance.

"The truth." I stated looking back at Valerie who she showed me a small smile, nodding in agreement.

I walked down the stairs after taking a shower as my phone buzzed and I pulled it out from my pocket, raising my eyebrow. "Boys!" I yelled through the house. "Lily just sent me their location!" I added as I walked passed the door, towards the living room before there was a knock and I rose an eyebrow. I turned back towards the door and opened it to see Caroline about to knock again. "Hey." I stated, looking her up and down slightly confused.

"Hi." She smiled, stepping inside somewhat hesitantly. "Is Stefan-" she started before Damon and Stefan came from the kitchen.

"Caroline? I thought you were studying?" Stefan asked looking at her taken aback.

"I was—But I'm here now, surprise!" Caroline laughed dryly, putting her hands up and I saw that her sleeves were tucked over her knuckles.. She only does that when she's nervous about something.

"Ah, Stefan's distraction machine. Please tell me you're not coming." Damon stated as he eyed her and I rolled my eyes.

"Coming where?" Caroline asked with furrowed brows as she looked back at Stefan.

"Nora and Mary-Louise's anniversary party?" Valerie replied raising her eyebrow at Caroline as she walked into the room with us and I watched as her and Care eyed each other carefully, tension building.
