Shift

Chapter 35

Everyone reacted quickly and ran out the emergency exits. The alarm went off in the building and as if on cue everything became chaos.

Me and Quency tried our best to fight them, my sheild finally weakend but I never let it down. Quency was able to use the first shift to shoot crystal like sharp needles at them.

"Wow... I've never seen anyone of our people, to have both partners to be able to use shifts and not only that but to have them use two different shifts at the same time... truely incredible." Leo laughed and applauded us.

"I swear..." I grunted out "....that i can't tell which personality is worse? yours or his..."

"Don't loope me in with him." Quency said as he threw more crystal daggers. "Besides I'm a way better guy than him. what did you see in him?

I shrugged "besides how are you throwing those daggers?...." I stopped to realize that his left hand was engulfed in water, where a beautiful trail of floating water came from the water fountain behind him and came out through his right hand as shards. "Oh! I see, you reversed the healing process of the first shift and turned it into a weapon..... thats, soo freakin cool."

"Now that your amazed... keep focus, your sheild is slipping." I nodded and returned my focus back towards them. Leo yawned and looked at Cherry and fleí.

"Are you guys finished toying with them? just break the sheild you two." They nodded at eachother and blasted my sheild. As if in slow motion, my sheild cracked like glass, then shuddered. It then turned into small dark fractures and then dispersed into sparks of nothing. The force of their power flew me back towards the big window of the school building. Quency caught me in time before I could fly through.

"You okay?" Quency said. I nodded.

"Well, wasn't that fun?" Quency said as he walked towards us with a sinister smile.

Can you still fight? Quency said within my head. Yes. We got up and without hesitation Quency threw a punch at fleí with an icy fist. As Fleí spiraled into the wall Quency ran towards Leo to throw a punch, but one of his followers stopped him. He twisted Quency's arm and decked Quency in the face. Quency got up only to be knocked down.

"Quency!" I rushed towards him, but Cherry stopped me in my tracks. "Fleí!" She yelled "get up and stop acting like you're hurt!" She looked at me and smiled.

"What are you guys?" I asked.

"You obviously have no idea how mating works? Do you?" She laughed as her and fleí merged into one being. "The guys are like our vessel's, our power source, they keep us in check and protected." Her eyes glowed and so did her body. "this is our fourth shift, a shift you'll never get to...we know all your weakness." Without warning she charged at me fast and kicked me in the gut.

I managed to jump back a little to lesson the impact of her kick. I flew out the window, but was caught by someone and brought back inside. I turned to see Misty Dreyvus.

"When did you get here? And how'd you know we needed help?"

She smiled "everyone knows what's happening here, its on the news, plus there's darkness that's starting to leak into the city."

Darkness?...so thats why he stalled..

"We brought some back up, so just focus on Leo."

"How'd you know about him?"

"We've been watching him....but now's not the time.... fight now, questions later."

With everyone in battle now, I ran after Leo. Leo blocked every punch I threw at him swiftly. With every punch I threw he counteracted with a blow to my face or stomach.

He laughed "how pathetic. You can't even land a simple punch." With that I flew up and decked him in the jaw with all my power. He flew and spun into the wall. As quickly as he fell, he got up and turned. He wiped blood off of his lip and laughed. "You bitch!.." he laughed harder, then looked at me seriously. "Well you managed to get one good punch in, but thats all your gonna get, you'll regret it tho, I promise."

He took one step away from the wall, yet we were face to face. My heart pounded in my chest as he lifted up his hand and slapped me across the hall. "Your still too weak."

"Well you shouldn't judge a book by its cover Leo." I smiled as I looked up at him "you may have been hitting me, but i don't think you've noticed that i don't have a bruse or a scratch on me. Well not that many anyways."

Leo cocked his head to the side, then smiled. "Ahh you've been taught well. Learning how to lesson the blows and how to figure out your opponents weaknesses. My, my..." he smiled "but thats not gonna work on me."

He came at me full charge, I blocked him and manged to make a few connected blows. I also managed to dodge some deadly punches, my movements felt fast but it started to slow. I grabbed Leo's arm and tossed him out the broken window, where cops, news reporters and other extra people stood out there trying to see what's happening.

Leo fell on the ground pretty hard then got up. He came at me once again. I could hear my friends screams of pain and angry cries as they fought. Then all of a sudden I heard silence. Leo stopped attacking.

Cherry and fleí came down to the ground with Quency. Quency looked tired and battered. "Well we have everyone cornerd." Leo said. "We could kill them or you could give in." Cherry held up her arm, which was turned into a firey weapon, and held it at Quency's neck.

I looked at Leo, feeling completely deflated.

"Put ur hands up and weapon's down!" I heard a cop yell.

Leo rolled his eyes and turned, he lifted his arm and raised the cop cars up in the air and threw them at the plains in the sky. Then he formed a sheild around us so that we weren't disturbed. "Now back to what we were doing."

That's when I realised Leo was still toying with me, he could've put an end to this battle along time ago. "You're stalling aren't you?!"

Sorry for this long chapter, i got really into this one, and sorry for taking to long with this story.....but i hope you'll bare with me i'm working on another story called syrena, maybe it won't take me as long.....XD luv u guys for reading it tho....
