"Come again?" I asked dumbfounded.

Faith chuckled. "I see Jaycen's told you absolutely nothing."

Jaycen got up off the ground beside where I used to lay.

"I've only known her a day and a half solid, Mom. And why didn't you tell me you were coming home earlier?"Jaycen asked changing the subject.

Faith turned her wrath dial-up on Jaycen. "Jaycen Ward! Your mate is sitting here, clueless and completely scared and you're talking about me coming home early!?"

The room rang silent, but in my head, there was a loud growl.

Mother or not, she should not talk to our mate in that fashion!

Hey, you mystery voice! Can you fill in some of these blanks?

There was a chuckle. Some of them, yes, but only things about us, nothing otherwise.

So...who are you?

I'm you. I'm wolf.

My wolf? I asked warily.

Yes, when Elliot attacked and bit you, his werewolf gene passed into you making us.

...So you're saying werewolves are real?

Well, we are here, so yes.

I sat and pondered on the idea of me being a werewolf.

So is this a mutation?

I'm not sure. The wolf is a mixture of Elliot, not just his DNA, but more than that, his emotion. Somehow that combined with something in you, making us.

That really wasn't definitive.

"So you're all werewolves?" I asked aloud.

Jaycen came up beside me and softly took my hand. Curiously I very much enjoyed it. My wolf hummed for it.

Without even realizing it I started rolling my thumb over his wrist.

"Yes, Star we're all werewolves."

A lanky brown dog came walking in the room and noted my newness. He lumbered towards me.

I waved to the creature, "Hello."

Jay laughed, "That's somebody's dog."

"Oh." I blushed, embarrassed. "I have another question."

"Okay, just one moment," Jaycen told me.

I nodded in response.

Jaycen turned towards the other little crowd. "Please leave. This meeting will be postponed."

They all nodded silently and filed out of the house.

All who were left in the room were Jaycen, Faith, Jaci, Terrence, and two other older men. I assumed one was Jay's dad, but the other I didn't know.

"Ask away now Sydney." Jaycen invited.

I was more than hesitant, but I hated being in the dark more than anything, "Ah, where to start? Who's this Elliot guy?"

The name 'Elliot' raised a lot of growls. The loudest was Jaycen.

"He's an old enemy." A new voice said.

I turned to see Mat leaning against a wall.

"Mat!" I cried.

I leaped off the chair and ran into his arms.
