Chapter Thirty-Seven:

To Bleed Purple

-...-

Seto opened the door to find a small white, square room. The room was completely white, like in fictional science labs, only without any furniture or equipment. Inside was just a little boy. Well, a little boy who was clearly not human.

The boy had white hair, of which moved like it was underwater. He had light purple skin, and claw like hands and feet. His eyes were dark, with glowing neon purple pupils. His mouth was edged, like an endermen's mouth. In fact, the kid looked like a more human like endermen. The kid had on an olive green cloak over his greyish purple uniform, with a neon purple gem holding his cloak together.

Their eyes met, and the two froze like deer in headlights. Seto calmed himself down rather quickly, but still could not even fathom how a child of a different species was in this room! The kid had a journal laying open next to him, with crayons spread about. Who was this kid? What was he doing here?

"Seto?" The kid asked, his voice soft, but yet something about it made Seto believe the kid didn't get many chances to talk.

"How do you know my name?" Seto asked. He'd never met this kid in his life.

"Y-You don't remember me?" The kid stood up, looking a little hurt. "I-it's me! Unity! Unity Chéri!"

"I think I would remember you if i'd ever seen you before..." Seto frowned.

Unity sighed, and Seto almost felt guilty.

"Oh, so that was probably in the future. I'm in the past, I get it." Unity whispered to himself. "That's why you were so eager to invite me."

"I..uh...sorry." Seto shrugged. "Wait! You said your name was Unity, right?"

The kid looked up and nodded his head. "Yep, that's me."

"So was the clue on the door really just your name? Did you write that there? Is this like...like your room or something?" Seto asked.

Unity shook his head. "I didn't know that was there. But, i'll remember that for later. It must be important for this timeline."

"How old are you?" Seto asked. The kid seemed to know about things, as everything he said confused the sorcerer.

"Oh! I'm 12, in human years that is." Unity looked up at Seto with a smile. "Not that Oni years are much different."

"Oni years?" Seto asked. "I take it you're not from here."

"Yeah, I...uh...well..." Unity stopped himself before explaining anymore. He turned around and walked over to his crayons and journal.

"Thank you from freeing me from this room." Unity said, shoving the crayons in his pants pockets and then holding his journal in his arms, under the cloak.

"You were trapped here?" Seto asked, and moved aside as Unity walked through the doorway, into the room with the large cell.

"In that room, yes." Unity answered, stopping halfway down the walk way. Seto followed and then stopped as well. "This dimension has been acting strange."

"Look, uh, Unity, nothing you're talking about is making sense to me." Seto stopped the kid. "Can you enlighten me on your situation or do you have places to be?"

Unity tilted his head, looking up at the adult. "Oh, wha? This is where I'm supposed to be."

"No, I mean-"
