Chapter 2 - High School

*Fast Forward 6 Years*

Jenni's Point of View

I couldn't wait for high school. New school, new people, new teachers. But I was also really terrified. What if people don't like me? What if my classes are hard and I fail? I was too scared to sleep so I decided to text Cameron.
To: CamBam (12:38 a.m.)
CAAAM! I'm so scared for tomorrow
Cameron soon responded.
From: CamBam (12:40)
Don't worry Ill be there if you need me :) remember we have 1, 3, 4, and 6 period together.
To: CamBam (12:44)
Yeah, I know but I'm scared. What if no one likes me? I'll have no friends :(

You'll always have me. Remember best friends forever no matter what. :) Just can't believe we'll see each other every day now. Seeing you makes me so much better.

Aww, Cam you always know what to say. You make me happy.

I sent the text and turned of my phone. As much as I wanted to go to high school I wanted to avoid it. At least Cameron is going to be there with me. We always acted as a couple but we were never actually going out. In eighth grade just a couple months before, we got voted "cutest couple" because people assumed we were a couple. I couldn't blame them, we were almost always together and Cam sometimes gave me little gifts like roses or chocolate. I really liked Cam and have since the day we met. He was just so much fun and cute. But I wasn't sure Cameron felt the same way. I've always wanted to tell him how I felt but I didn't want to feel embarrassed when he didn't like me back. I couldn't stop thinking about what if I did tell him and he did like me? I mean we always flirted and said things like "love you". I decided to just go with my gut and tell him that I like him. Tomorrow would be the perfect day to tell him, us starting high school and all. I actually felt so relaxed after thinking over my plan about what I was going to tell Cameron that I actually fell asleep.

Cameron's Point of View

"Ugh Jenni just makes me so happy," I thought as I texted her goodnight. I had always liked her ever since I was partners with her in the third grade. I had told her I wanted to sleep because we had school the next day. The real reason is said goodbye was because I wanted to ask her out tomorrow and her other best friend, Andrea, was helping me plan it. Andrea always knew I liked her but she never told Jenni because I didn't want her to. I sometimes thought Jenni liked me but other times I just thought she was being nice. Well tomorrow, on the first day of high school, I would find out the real answer, whether Jenni liked me or not.
Me and Andrea had come up a plan. I would ask her out before she left school since we had the last period together. Since Andrea went to school earlier, she got out one period before us. During that period she would call her mom to bring her white roses (because they were Jenni's Favorite) so she can have them ready when me and Jenni got out of class. During class I would pass Jenni a note saying to meet me in the auditorium because I forgot something in there. I would run there after class so I could get there before her. She would come to the auditorium and I would be there holding flowers and Andrea would film the whole thing. I couldn't for tomorrow I was so excited I could barely keep my eyes closed.
~The Next Day~
I woke up and picked out something casual. A nice white hoodie, and black jeans. I quickly ran downstairs to brush my teeth then headed towards the kitchen. I was so energetic I couldn't wait to ask Jenni out.
"Woah Cameron, slow down. Your so jumpy today. Must be very excited for your first day at your new school," said my mom.
"Well I am pretty excited for school. But what I really can't wait for is about asking Jenni to be my girlfriend," I responded.
"Aww that's so sweet. But it's about time. I've been waiting for you two to go out in forever. I could tell she really likes you. Hope it goes well," she said smiling.
"I really hope it goes well too. Andrea helped me plan the whole thing." I said.
"How about we giver her a ride? It will be nice." My mom suggested.
"That's a great idea. Thanks mom, just don't give away my plan," I said and started to text Jenni.
"I'll try not to," she responded laughing.

Jenni's Point of View

I was in the kitchen with my mom when I heard my phone ding. It was Cam.
From: CamBam
hey, wanted to know if you wanted a ride to school?
" Hey mom, Cam wants to give me a ride to school?" I asked my mom.
"Sure, maybe he'll ask you out on the way to school. You two would make the perfect couple," she said.
"I don't think so. I'm not even sure he likes me. But I plan to tell him how I really feel today," I responded.
"About time. You two have liked each other for ages. Really glad your finally deciding to tell him the truth." she said.
I texted Cam back and he arrived a couple minutes later.
"Really hoping I don't embarrass myself," I mumbled.
" Don't worry, I'm sure he really likes you too. But you'll never know until you try," my mom said.
"Thanks mom, that's some really good advice," I said now feeling confident. As I finished my sentence, the doorbell rang. I quickly got up and answered it. Cameron was at the door.
"Hey Jenni. You look beautiful," Cam said checking me out.
"Why thank you, you look rather dashing as well," I added. I grabbed my bag, phone and said goodbye to my mom.
"Have a nice first day sweetie. Hope it goes well!" My mom yelled as I walked out the door with Cam.
I walked out side and Cam's mom was parked in the driveway.
"Hello Mrs. Dallas," I said as I entered the car.
"Nice to finally see you again Jennifer. Are you excited. Cause I know Cam is,"
"As a matter of fact I am, but also scared," I responded kinda nervously.
"Well don't be scared, Cam will be there." she said.
We didn't talk much during the ride. We were more than halfway there when all of a sudden Cam grabs my hand in his.
"To help calm you," he said smiling.
"Aww look how cute you guys are, holding hands," Cam's mom said as she noticed us holding hands by looking in the rear view mirror. I couldn't help but blush. Cam's mom actually thought we were dating.
"Mom, stop embarrassing me," Cam said.
" I'm just saying. You two would make such a cute couple," she responded. I felt awkward just being there in the car with Cam's mom thinking we were a couple. Luckily we had already arrived at the school. Cam's mom parked and Cam opened the door for me.
"Wow Cameron such a gentlemen," Cam's mom said as I got off," Well have a nice day you lovebirds!"
"I'm so sorry for my mom." Cam said apologizing.
"It's fine," you couldn't help but smile," I actually kinda liked it, her thinking we were a couple."
" So you want us to be a couple," Cam said smirking.
"Omg Cam", you said laughing ," I meant I liked the idea of her thinking we were a couple."
You were about to tell him about you liking him but the bell rang. We went to class together and sat next to each other in every class we had. Everything was going well. Then we went to lunch and I found my best friend Andrea.
"Omg Andi! Haven't seen you all day." I said as I ran up and hugged Andrea.
"Well I'm here now. Seems like we have no classes though. " said Andrea
"Wow that sucks, but how are your classes?" I asked.
"Good, I just Have one more period though. How bout yours?" She asked.
"There great, I at least have Cameron In my classes."
"Ooooo. How are you two?" She said interested.
"What do you mean? Like are we a couple? Oh no, I really like him and a I plan to tell him how I feel today." I responded.
"Omg about time. I'm so excited to see what happens," she said.
Lunch ended and I walked back to class. I didn't walk with anyone because Andrea left and I couldn't find Cam. I sat down and I tried to save a desk for Cam next to me but they were all taken, so I saved the one behind me. Cam walked in and smiled at me.
"I saved you a seat," I said and pointed to the desk behind me.
" Thanks," he said and sat down.
The teacher was passing out our class syllabuses when someone tapped me on the back. I turned around and saw Cameron handing me a note. The teacher was turned around so I opened it.
It read:
Can you wait for me in the auditorium? I forgot something. :/
Oh Cam, always so forgetful. I turned around and nodded. Class soon ended and Cam ran out the door.
"Okay Jenni get to the auditorium and tell him how you feel," I thought. I walked to the auditorium once again alone because Cameron left running. I got to the auditorium which was mostly empty.
I turned to see Cameron standing in the middle of the auditorium with white roses which were my favorite. I started getting so happy knowing already what was happening.
"Jenni, you've been my best friend for six years now, and I've always liked you. I'm so happy that you could be my best friend but now will you be my girlfriend?" Cam asked smiling.
"Well I was about to tell you about how much I like you, but then you asked me out and my answer is yes." I responded and jumped into his arms.
"AWW! About time this happened. You two will be so cute," Andrea said holding a camera.
"Did Andrea help plan this?" I asked Cam.
"Couldn't have done it without her," Cam responded.
" Well I'm just glad I can start off high school with a new boyfriend," I said.
"We'll last forever," Cam said.
"Forever," I responded.

They're now a couple!
Can't wait to see what happens with their relationship.
Kinda short chapter but whatever :)
