Not knowing was the hardest part.
The moon on Will's neck was waxing gibbous today. Beautiful. He wondered if his Soulmate would be the same.
He wondered if it be a boy, or a girl, or both. Is it possible to be both? Probably not but hey guy can dream right?
Moon was clouded over like something was wrong. Will wondered what it was. He wanted to know what his tattoo would look like.
Oh well. His break was almost over. Spending the whole time in the girls bathroom might seen strange. He pushed his collar so it covered up the image and left.
...
Lou Ellen grinned when she saw him. "Taking a long time there?"
"Shut it. The Moon looks foggy."
She tilted her head. She was supposed to be making fries, but she has burned them instead. Her tattoo was plain to see, there on her left eye. It was a spad, like the card. "What do you think is going on in his/her life?"
Will rinsed his hands. "I dunno. I never do."
"Hey," Lou hit him. "You'll figure it out. You should write to him and ask."
Will gulped. Writing to your Soulmate was risky. If they didn't answer...
"But if I do that, his Soulmate might change."
"Only if you can't make him feel better. Go on. Try."
...
Will had homework. This was a problem.
Oh, well. Ms. Dybas wasn't heartless.
What's wrong?
He wrote on his arm.
It didn't take long for a reply.
You haven't written in ages.

Sorry. Your tattoo is being all sad again. Thought I'd check on you.

Thanks. Its nothing though.

Umm, the tattoo says otherwise. Spill.

You're nosy.

Well, sorry that I care.

No... I'm just not used to people wanting to help that much.

No one should ever have to go through anything alone.

I... Feel like I've gone through the depths of Tartarus and back. My sister found her Soulmate, and I'll admit, I'm jelous. I've resorted to doing things... I'm not proud of. I wish I was dead.

Will was at a loss for words. He said what needed to be said.

Suck it up.

EXCUSE ME???

If you stay mopey forever, nothing's gonna get better.

...
Goodnight, Soulmate.

Good night.
...................................

School was pretty standard. Once Ms. Dybas learned about his Soulmate, she was fine.
The high part of the day was bumping into him.
He was a freshman, a year younger than Will. Will had seen him around, but hardly.
Will had been so preoccupied with the whole Soulmate shabing that he hadn't noticed the boy.
Surprise when crashing everywhere. Pencils, notebooks, and erasers were scattered all over the floor.
"Sorry!" Will said.
"You're fine," the boy grumbled from the floor, picking up his things.
Will joined him on the ground.
"Just... Thinking about the Soulmate."
"Isn't everyone?"
Will eyes him suspiciously. "Whaddya mean?"
"Nothing. I was, too."
"Oh."
Will hardly knew his own Soulmate. He shouldn't get dabbled into this kids lovelife too. But something about him intrigued Will. The way his hair covered his eyes, the way his long sleeves were extra long. He wanted to know more.
"You ever talked to her?" he asked.
The boy nodded.
"What's she like?"
"... She/He has thing weird thing that I can't put my finger on."
"Hmm," Will pretended that he hadn't picked everything up yet.
"I wonder..." the boy said.
"What?"
"Nothing. See you later."
He started to walk away, but turned.
"My name is Nico, by the way."
Then he jogged off.
...
Three weeks, A sleepover, two study dates and seventeen trips to Starbucks later...

"Morning, Solace."
"Morning, di Angelo."
The two boys smiled at eachother.
A lot had happened. Will had to write a short story on depression, and Nico had to write a paper on the uses of Advil.
Instead, they were writing eachother's.
"Hows my paper?"
"Shush," Will told him, glancing around nervously. "We'll get in trouble."
"Who cares? I have detention until spring break anyway."
"But I don't want it into summer."
Nico tilted his head. "Still wanna take me to that lameo summer camp?"
Will chuckled. "Trust me. It's anything but lame."
"Yeah, so are we still meeting at Starbucks later?"
"Yeah. Lou and Cecil are coming too."
"I know."
.............
"So are we on for poker tomorrow?" Lou Ellen asked.
"Heck, yeah! I'll win eventually!" Cecil told her.
Their tattoos are cards symbols, on their faces, and they still don't get it?
"Guys, what do you want to order?" Nico rolled his eyes from behind the counter. He was gonna join his friends as soon as he got on break.
"Strawberry milkshake."
"Vinilla smoothie."
"Orange smoothie."
"No one wants coffee?"
"Fine," Will said. "Cancel my order. Coffee, Italian, dark, and overall, like you, Nico."
"K."
A few steps away, Will added something.
"Oh, and whipped cream on top."
"Ha, ha," Nico said. "Very funny."
"I don't get it," Cecil said.
"That's because you have shelter parents."
A few minutes later, Nico came out with the drinks.
"So, Will," Lou said. "Having trouble with the story?"
"Um, sure," he replied quickly.
"Can I have some coffee?" Cecil asked.
"Oh, sure," Will agreed.
Cecil reached over the table, knocking his own drink onto Will.
"Dude!" he said and stood up.
"Oh, sorry, Will!" Cecil stood and observed his damage.
"You can just take off your jacket, Will," Lou Ellen said.
"Yeah, sure."
He tugged his jacket over his head. Underneath he was wearing a couselour t-shirt.
Nico chocked.
"Something wrong?" Will asked, surprised.
"No... I'm fine.... Bathroom... BRB."
Nico ran out of the room. He splashed cold water on his face.
Dam, he thought.
He pulled on his collar. Right there, on his collarbone, was a firey Sun.
He had seen Will's tattoo. Same place. A Moon.
This is bad, he thought.
Then he reconsidered.
No, I found my Soulmate.
"I found my Soulmate."

A/N: Sorry, kinda jumped on this weird Soulmate! AU thing. Oh, well.
