Amanda's POV~

The countless hours of studying with John had finally paid off. Two 'B's' and three 'A's' stared back at me on the screen.

“See.” John smiled, touching my shoulder. “I told you you didn't fail.” He laughed, as he threw a plain t-shirt into his suitcase.

I rolled my eyes at him. I can't believe he's just packing now when we leave in less than an hour.

“You didn't say that,” I shot back, watching him dump a pile of clothes in another suitcase. “If I remember correctly you said, 'there's no way you could get a 'C' with my awesome teaching skills'.”

He rolled his shoulder up. “Same diff. Now help me pack.” He threw a bag at my feet, giving me a pleading look so I would say 'yes'. Too bad for him, I'm not that nice. His fault for not listening to me yesterday when I told him to pack.

Trying to not hit him upside the head, I took out my cell phone to distract myself, ignoring the look he was giving me.

'Danny, get your butt in here now! John's making me pack.'

Hitting send, I locked my phone, and went back to my laptop. After scanning through the school's website for a few more minutes, I logged out of my account, and went to my Gmail to see an email from Neal. The corners of my lips lifted up when I saw his name. Since studying with John, the only time I got to see Neal was during class hours. And even then, we didn't talk as much as before. I was mostly always with Zuri.

Clicking it open, wondering what he had sent me, I saw a blank email. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Why would he sent a blank email? Unless it was by mistake…? Scrolling down, I saw the letter 'H'.

My nose scrunched up, as I pondered about it.

Did he meant to say 'Hi' or something? But, if that was the case, why couldn't he just text me? He had my number didn't he?

“What are you doing?” John asked suddenly behind me, his voice scaring the crap out of me.

Whipping my head around, I glared at him. He knew not to sneak up from behind me like that! “Don't do that!” I slapped him on his arm, as I tried to control my rapid breathing.

“Sorry,” he apologized, as I saw the guilt flash through his eyes. Leaning forward he gave me a kiss on the cheek, making me blush in return. “Forgive me, please?”

I nodded, not knowing what else to say. Ever since that day in the library, John's been acting very touchy-feely lately around me. Though he never did pushed it too far. It was just long hugs or small kisses on the foreheads or cheeks. I think he's trying to get me used to the idea of us being 'together', even though we weren't really official. It was weird but nice at the same time.

“Good.” He grinned, hugging me, as I felt his muscles underneath his thin polo shirt. “So . . .” His voice trailed off as his blue eyes pointed at the screen, indicating he wanted to know what was going on.

I sighed, prying his hands off of me. It wasn't that I didn't like his arms around me, believe me, I do. But it's a bit hard to think whenever his body was in contact with mine.

“Just got an email from Neal.”

I heard a click of teeth. “Oh?”

I covered a small giggle, knowing he was jealous but he was trying to act causal about the whole thing. For some reason I didn't find it annoying. It was cute. I don't know why I thought that way, but maybe it's because I'm used to John and his protectiveness?
