Chapter 45 : The Uchiha Brotherhood (Part - 1)

Sasuke P.O.V

'Foolish brother of mine, if wish to kill me, then hate me, detest me and live a long unsightly life. Run, and keep running...cling to your pitiful life. And one day, when you have the same eyes as I, come before me!'

I was walking towards the place where I was sure to find Itachi. Karin, Juugo and Suigetsu were busy with their respective tasks. Juugo had to keep a lookout for reinforcements and Suigetsu had to keep Hoshigaki Kisame busy. Karin...had no duty since she was too weak to do anything. Her only skills were tracking and healing people.

If only Akame was here...

No! Don't think of her! She was faithful to me and she supported me in Orochimaru's hideout but she never told me that she was in touch with Deidara's partner, Tobi! She knew a member of the Akatsuki and she could have made my mission easier and yet...she never revealed it to me! At the end of the day, was I simply someone who had happened to hire her as an assassin. Was that all she saw me as? Her client?

My blood still boiled when I thought back to the time when Tobi made things clear. There was no mistaking it. Akame belonged to him.

But right now...I had more important things to do. Something that had driven me all this time. The sole mission of my life. To erase the monster masquerading as my brother. Uchiha Itachi.

I was finally at the hideout. Itachi was sitting nonchalantly on a chair. There was the kanji for flame embossed behind his 'throne'. Next to that was the Uchiha symbol. So this was his room. He calmly looked at me.

Itachi: What do you see with that Sharingan of yours?

Sasuke: With these eyes of mine, there is one thing I see clearly...Itachi, I see your death.

He quietly and calmly looked into my three-tomoe Sharingan. I couldn't help but remember Akame's words.

'I won't stop you from having your revenge but please make sure you remember to find out everything there is to know. After all...the dead can never truly be brought to life.'

Itachi sighed before continuing to stare at me with a nonchalant expression.

Itachi: My death? Well then...try to make it happen.

In a second, he had appeared right next to me. I felt a smirk grow on my face. Akame might have betrayed me but...she still had her uses. I could keep a calm mind and rationally analyze things even though Itachi was standing right next to me. I won't fly off the handle or lose control. I will kill him with a calm mind...in cold blood.

We engaged in a taijutsu battle. He used his kunai but I comfortably blocked him with my katana. Thanks to Akame, my swordsmanship was impeccable. I may not be as good as her...but I knew that I could easily take on other opponents...even the seven great swordsmen of the mist. Itachi will die by my hands!

Sasuke: Chidori Nageshi(Chidori stream)!

Itachi jumped up to avoid it but I was one step ahead of him. It was just like Akame said...interpret and predict your enemy's movements. Don't act recklessly. Like like when I killed Orochimaru...if I am confident of my own ability, then there was no need to fear the opponent. Itachi's eyes widened in shock and a trickle of blood ran down from his mouth.

Itachi: You've gotten stronger. Looks like Metsujin Akame had her uses.

Sasuke: Don't talk about her. Before your death, I have something I want to ask-

Itachi's body pointed to the seat he had been sitting on a while ago. On the seat, Itachi was still sitting! I look down to find that the one I had defeated was his crow clone. I had fallen for his genjutsu...as if I'd say that!

Itachi: What do you want to know? The match is not over yet but I'll listen to you.

He gasped slightly as my sword went through his chest. The one his crow clone defeated was actually my snake clone. I had been waiting right behind his chair the entire time! I pierced through the chair and him.

Sasuke: The pain in your chest won't subside until you give me a proper answer. Back then, after you massacred the Uchiha clan, you said that if I activate the mangekyo then they'll be three mangekyo users...who is the third person? 

Itachi: Why would you want to know such a thing?

Sasuke: Is he that Tobi guy? He's next on my list. That's why.

Itachi: Kill him?

Sasuke: That night you said that there would be three members with Mangekyo Sharingan. If you didn't kill him back then...it simply means that that person aided you in massacring the Uchiha clan. Even you would have found it difficult to handle the Uchiha police force on your own. Besides...I also have other reasons for killing him.

Itachi: It seems like you've figured it out...

Sasuke: Who is it?

Itachi: Uchiha...Madara.

Wait...Akame was liasoning with Uchiha Madara...the one who killed my entire clan alongside Itachi! Even the nine-tails had talked about Madara...Am I supposed to believe that the one behind it all(alongside Itachi) was one of the fore founders of Konoha and the first person to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan!

Sasuke: There is no way that is true! Uchiha Madara was killed by Senju Hashimara at the valley of the end!

Itachi: Madara is alive. Whether you believe me is up to you. People live their lives bound by what they see as 'right' and 'true'. That's what they call 'reality'. However, 'right' and 'true' are nothing but vague terms. Their reality could turn out to be an illusion. Everyone is living by their own assumptions. Wouldn't you agree?

I clenched my teeth. I did avoid his critical points on purpose so that I could get him to talk but he simply smirked and talked away. He was still siting casually on that damn chair. Was I so weak that I couldn't even make him move from that chair?

Itachi: Madara being death was your own convenient assumption.  And you were once under the impression that I was a caring, older brother. I continuously pretended to be the brother you wished for...in order to measure your capacity.

Sasuke: On the night 'it' happened, I was so young that I had to pretend that it was just a nightmare...I wanted to believe that it was all a horrible genjutsu...but there was no mistaking that it was the reality! My eyes are different from how they used to be! This Sharingan of mine can see right through your genjutsu! This time I'll kill you!

Itachi: You still like to talk big. Then again, I suppose they are more than big words this time. Looks like Metsujin Akame was worthy enough for Madara to summon her from another world. 

Sasuke: So does that mean you're finished playing these little games? Then It's time I finish you for good!
