Chapter 15.

I'm on google right now looking up Luke Kuechly and mystery girl, me.  I already find quite a few stories about us and I'm stunned by how fast they can come up with some of these stories.  The most outrageous one being that I'm his baby mama and we have been dating since college and got me pregnant before leaving for the pros.  

Like what the hell?

Who comes up with this type of stuff?

From what I know Luke doesn't have a kid and I know that I certainly don't have one.  I mean I would love to have kids some day but not yet.  I scroll through the comments of random people and land on some pretty nasty ones and some pretty nice ones.  

She doesn't even look like his type. 

Of course, she's blonde.  So stereotypical for football players.  Blonde bimbo.

Ouch, that hurt.  Tell that to my 3.5 GPA.  

She's so ugly.  Luke should be dating me, not her.  

That bitch is stealing my future hubby.  

Aww, they look so cute together.  He looks happy so I'm happy for him.  

Best comment I've seen so far.

Her hair, outfit, and makeup are on point in those pictures.  Who is she?

They obvi look like a couple.  I'm jealous, they look adorable.

I read this while watching E! News when I read about a new segment coming on of Luke. Oh great, I wonder what this is going to be about.  I mean I knew this would happen eventually, I just didn't think it would happen so soon.  That was our first date as an official couple.  I've even started seeing other pictures of Luke and I out together when we were just getting to know each other and then when we dated for two weeks without being a couple.  Finally the segment on Luke comes up and Ariel and my mom come to the couch and watch it with me.  I see Giuliana Rancic on the screen with her co-star Terrance J and my nerves are bundling up.  

"Linebacker for the North Carolina Packers football team, Luke Kuechly, has been spotted on numerous occasions with a mystery girl!" Giuliana says with a smile.  

"Yeah, and breaking hearts everywhere because he might be off the market now."  Terrance says with a chuckle.  

"Apparently from an inside source who saw them out said they looked extremely close.  They were so adorable together and were all smiles and laughter.  What do you think Terrance?  Do you think the Linebacker is off the market from these pictures?"  She asks him.

"I mean you could never be too sure because of photoshop or without the statement from his manager.  But if I were just looking at these right away I'd definitely say they are.  I mean you don't just kiss your best friend, am I right?" He asks while laughing.

"I agree with you completely.  But until we get a statement were just going to keep guessing.  If we are correct then congratulations to the happy couple!" Giuliana adds with a sincere smile and then my mom shuts it off.

I groan.  This can't be happening.  

"What.  The.  Hell." Ariel says after a moment of silence.

My thoughts exactly.

My phone goes off and I see that it's Luke calling me so I excuse myself and go to my room to have some privacy.  I have a feeling why he's calling.  He just saw the news about us.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey, Callie.  Did you see?"

"Yeah,  I saw.  What are we going to do?"  I ask nervously biting my fingernails.

"I mean I wasn't expecting them to find out this early in our relationship.  But would you want me to have my manager make a public statement about us?"

Is that really what I want?  Do I want the whole world knowing that I am the girl that Luke Kuechly is dating?  I mean the pictures are already out there and it's pretty obvious.  Luke is what I want and if I want to keep seeing him as my boyfriend then I have to be okay with the media and his fans knowing about us.  

I just hope this doesn't backfire.  

"Yeah, I'm okay with it.  I want you, Luke.  If being with you means letting the media and your fans know then I have to be okay with that."  

"Really?"  I can just imagine him smiling right now.  "Alright, I'll let my manager know.  I'll see you tonight then?"

"Yeah, see you tonight." I smile a closed mouth one.  

"Bye, see you later."

"See you later."

I hang up the phone and let out a sigh of relief.  I know with Luke by my side I'll be able to handle it.  I hope.

It's later in the evening after we all had eaten dinner that there's a knock on the door.  I go to open the door and see that it's Luke.  I can already feel my cheeks getting warm and blushing at the sight of him.  His hair is curly, he's wearing shorts, a grey shirt, and some nike shoes.  Luke tilts my head up by putting two fingers under my chin and kissing my lips.  

"Hi," I say once I pull away from him.

"Hey," he has a smile on his face and it's so contagious I can't help but smile back.  

I close the door and lead him up to my room where we can talk quietly, leaving the door half way cracked open.  Luke gets on my bed and lays side ways while I lay facing him.  He intertwines our fingers for a few minutes neither of us saying anything.  

Luke's POV

As we lay there quietly looking at each other, I can't help but question how did I get so lucky?  Callie is so different than other girls.  She's beautiful on the inside and outside.

"You know with the media and fans finding out about us it could change things." I say clearing my throat.

She knits her eyebrows together.  "What do you mean?"

"I just don't want them to be the reason for you to leave me."

I know we just got together but that's always one of the greatest fears of a professional athlete.  Is that the person they are with will leave them because they can't handle the pressure, news articles being printed about them, the lies and all the gossip, everything.  

"I promise I'm not going anywhere."

It was almost like there was more of a deeper meaning behind those words.  More than just the media.

Ahh so the media found out about Callie and Luke being together!  His manager is going to release a statement soon.  Crazy stuff & drama is about to happen!!

Did you like reading from Luke's POV?  I know it wasn't a lot from him but there wasn't a lot to say.  I'll try to write more of his POV though because I love him and his thoughts are going to be important in this story for later on ;).
