Chapter 42

Morning...

Riker POV

I woke up between 2 of my favorite people. Ross and Paige. I had my arms wrapped around Paige, and Ross was right next to me.

I looked at the clock, and it was 8:17. Finally morning.

Rydel, mom, dad, and Ryland were up. Everyone else was sleeping.

"Paige," I whined, shaking her.

"Rik, don't wake her up," Rydel said.

"But I want to talk to her," I whined.

"Rik, she's probably really tired."

"Oh well."

I shook Paige's shoulder until she woke up.

"What?" Paige groaned.

"I love you."

"I love you too, Rik. Can I sleep now?"

"No!" I whined.

"Why not?"

"Because I miss you."

"Rik, I'm right here."

"Please, can you just be awake?"

Paige sighed.

"You're being a big baby," Paige mumbled.

"I am not!"

"Shush, I'm trying to sleep."

"Paige," I whined.

She took her hand, and put it over my face. I licked her hand.

"Ew! Riker!"

"Are you awake yet?"

"I've been awake!"

"Riker, stop bothering her," Rydel said.

"Wake up!" I whined.

Paige opened her eyes, and looked at me, annoyed.

"I'm going to do something to you if you don't stop," Paige warned.

She closed her eyes again. I tried to be patient, but I just couldn't!

"Paige, please wake up!" I whined.

She grabbed my nose so I had to breathe out of my mouth.

"Ow! Hey!"

I pulled her hand off.

"Rik, leave her alone," Rydel said again.

"Fine..."

Later...

Riker POV

Finally everyone woke up, including Paige.

Mom bought us breakfast from a bakery down the road. Hospital food is really gross.

Paige sat up beside me.

"How are you feeling?" Paige asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Just everything. Your stomach. Your emotions. Your thoughts. Everything."

"My stomach feels better. I don't know about everything else... Ross is ok, so I guess I feel a little better because of that..."

"That's good."

Paige wrapped her arms around me.

"When can we go home?" I whined.

"I'm taking everyone home in about an hour," dad said.
