The next morning Ferg, Marsha and I head to my locker to get my Gym clothes. I hate PE. Not because I don't like sports, because I really don't mind them. It is more that I have zero hand and eye coordination. It is really bad, lives are at stake in PE class when I participate. Ferg and Marsha are all over each other as I open my locker and emptied my bag and put my clothes in it. As I went to close my locker a hand shot out and held it open. Startled I jumped, my eyes widening and my heart pounding before turning around.
"Jesus, you scared the crap out of me!" I said smacking Peter in the chest as he laughed at me. Lincoln standing beside him looking highly amused himself. Marsha and Ferg broke apart to see what the commotion was about. Marsha's eyes narrowed as they landed on Lincoln.
"It's Peter, not Jesus. Here this is for you. Start studying." He said while handing me a book before he and Lincoln walked away. I looked down and read the cover. Drive Safe. I flipped through the pages and smiled.
"What is it." Ferg asked.
"Drive Safe. I'm getting my license." I say still smiling. I put the book in my locker and closed it.
We started down the hall towards the gym, when someone banged into me slamming me into the lockers. Ferg helped steady me as I looked back seeing a smirking Vic. Suddenly he was slammed against the lockers by someone I didn't recognize. The crowded hallway stopped and watched, some jumping out of the way.
"We told you to leave her the f*ck alone Douchebag." He snarled at Vic. I just stood where I was in shock. Was he talking about me?
"Get your f*cking hands off of me!" Vic roared at the guy.
"Or what? You will get Daddy to come fight your battles princess?" He smirked. Vic shoved him back and stormed off down the hall. When he turned the corner the guy looked back at me and winked before walking the other direction. Yup, he meant me. The crowd started whispering and a lot of them stared at me. Ferg firmly took hold of my arm and gently lead me away towards the gym. Marsha came on my other side and looped her arm with mine. She looked like she was going to murder someone. When we made it to the gym Marsha and I went straight to the changing room.
"Who was that guy?" I asked Marsha
"Jake. He is friends with Lincoln and Peter. I think it is safe to assume that Lincoln asked him to keep Vic away from you as well. Look everyone knows that Lincoln isn't my favourite person but-" She paused before continuing. "He saved you from that Douche and he has managed to get half the school to look out for you. I have to give credit where credit is due." She said in a huff.
"Why don't you like him?"
"It's a long story and the bell is about to ring." She said with a small smile.
We finished changing into our shorts and shirts, then walked out to the gym. The class was seated on the bleachers, Ferg and Peter were sitting in the back row and were talking heatedly, I saw a scowl on Peters face. When they saw us approach they stopped talking. I looked over at Marsha and she shrugged her shoulders and started to climb up the bleachers to the back. I glanced at the crowd and noticed two girls glaring at me, I was pretty sure they were the two that were with Trish. Awesome. I made my way up to my friends and sat down next to Peter. I could feel the glares still on me so I looked down and stared at my runners. I hate feeling intimidated, I felt it all my life. Peter reached over and put two fingers under my chin and lifted it up so I was looking over at him. I saw Ferg and Marsha looking at me with concern in their eyes.
"Don't look down Kitten, you don't have to hide." He said looking at me softly, before dropping his hand. "Don't let the little b!tches know that they are getting to you." I just nodded my head being sure I kept it up. I looked straight ahead and waited for the teacher to call us to attention, I didn't have to wait long.
